We are big in dog training and hunting, and hunting tests. The bong is close to where we live and makes it easy to come out anytime. Also I like the variety of training land for all the different types of land and water setups.

The Bong Class I Field Trial grounds are a very important asset for anyone who train and tests dogs. The expansion of this property would allow users and test organizations even more options when it comes to training and testing dogs. Having more and larger Class 1 properties is needed.

Richard Bong State Recreational Area is up for review to continue field trial ground remaining in effect. This is a very critical part of our treasured sport continuing into the future. Without the land that we are blessed to have now it will be even more challenging for us to continue. Thank you in advance for this very important consideration. We love our sport and appreciate this area.

As a dog owner, hunter and field trialer I've trained and trialed at Bong since the 1990's.
An expansion and improvement of the dog training and field trial grounds areas are needed and long overdue....certainly the great interest from Wisconsin dog owners and trialers justify these improvements.

Michael Dally (Appleton, 2025-07-09)

I fly FREE FLIGHT ( as opposed to Radio Control) model airplanes. Free flight requires vast open areas because you have no control over where the plane will land and it could land a 1/2 mile or more from you. Bong is one of the very rare areas with enough open area. Good to have as much area as possible.
