Its essential that mokopuna have support from Govt to continue these support services, and are fully funded to do so.

Its disgusting that it takes a petition to get it.

All schools should stay open no matter what because its important to the kids. I hope the government will help to keep your school open because its awesome what you do to help these awesome kids to their journey into life its self and it gives them hope you could say. I will share this post so that all my friends can sign the petition best of luck that this school stays open.

Mike Barrell (New Plymouth, 2020-08-05)

#716

my mum was from Taranaki and disabled children should be able to continue conductive education in this region

Kahurangi Hippolite (Nelson, 2020-08-05)

#720

I’m signing this petition because I have been down this road and know from personal experience how important conductive education is for these Kids and the minimal provision of services available through the DHB is futile to the detriment of the child. MOH would be better to cut DHB funding to provide this service quarterly and put that funding toward a proper facility where these kids/parents can access regular input. This is crucial to tgeir development

Sandy Campbell (New Plymouth, 2020-08-05)

#723

I’m signing this petition as I don’t think that children with disabilities in Taranaki get a fair deal compared with other regions. The children that attend Conductive Education Taranaki need this centre and there are many more who would benefit hugely as well as their families.

Emma Crofskey (New Plymouth, 2020-08-06)

#725

These people have the friendliest attitudes and put huge mahi in for our kids. Nothing but love and compassion goes into what they do. They deserve some help after sourcing their own help for so long.

Ethan French (New Plymouth, 2020-08-06)

#732

I am signing because all children need and should have access to funded options that enable them to be the best they can be and add enrichment to already challenging lives.

Margaret Mason (Stratford , 2020-08-06)

#736

I am a physio that over the last 20 years has watched the Conductive Education team achieve fantastic physical and cognitive outcomes with kids with disabilites. It is just not acceptable for parents to have to drive their children out of their districts to get this service.

Gillian O'Connell (New Plymouth, 2020-08-06)

#738

Taranaki needs this service for these kids! They can’t mainstream and surely being in a group and learning what fits them mentally is better than being left behind!!!

Roxane White (New plymouth, 2020-08-06)

#741

I teach a child who goes to Conductive Education and have seen first hand the huge positive impact it has had in him and his family. There is nothing else like this here and so needed and valued by all those who access it.

Suzie Archer (New Plymouth , 2020-08-06)

#745

I’m signing because all kids in NZ deserve the opportunity to be educated and have the right to quality, inclusive education.

Every child needs the opportunity to learn within our education system and this means there needs to be the funding to cover our children that do not fit into the norm and require extra care and support to allow them to grow and develope

Anne Hawkins (New Plymouth , 2020-08-06)

#761

I know children who use this service and I know how important it is for them to continue.

So many other resources have been taken off the ones that need it most and this is another one they are having to fight to keep, so sad.

Taina Clair (Opunaks, 2020-08-06)

#766

As an educator who works alongside diverse learners and their whanau, this disappoints me that this school is having to work so hard to find the education for these tamariki. Education should be free for all!

Anita Bell (Parakai, 2020-08-06)

#772

I know two families personally in New Plymouth who's children need this facility.... We need this as ongoing support in Taranaki...

Jillian Hughes (Stratford, 2020-08-06)

#776

I do not agree with this and every child deserves an education especially our children with disabilities

Julz Blair (Auckland , 2020-08-06)

I was a founding member of the conductive education trust in Hamilton in the 1990's and was also an executive committee member on the trustboard. My grandson was born with cerabal palsy and without the establishment of this organisation there was limited resources available to assist families with support and education of these children. My grandson is now 32 yrs old.

Joyce Williams (Hamilton, 2020-08-06)

#781

Conductive Education is a powerful avenue for children with additional needs to join an ECE programme that provides for their typical, age appropriate needs while also providing intensive therapy for their physical and developmental needs. The burden of funding and fundraising this should not be left to the families.

Jo Chiet (Whanganui , 2020-08-06)

#786

This is a critical service to support families in need.

Richard Hills (Mount Maunganui, 2020-08-06)

#795

I know how hard Craig & the team worked to set up Conductive Education in Taranaki.

Deirdre McGlone (New Plymouth, 2020-08-07)

#796

It’s ludicrous to think that the kids who desperately need this service might not have access to it and never reach the potential they should have the right to achieve. Yet the government can throw millions of dollars at funding other businesses that don’t affect the life and health of a child.

Dee Baker (New Plymouth , 2020-08-07)

#800

My grandson benefits greatly from this service. There is nothing similar currently available in Taranaki that is health funded. It meets the needs of so many children with specific motor and development needs. I watch my daughter in law involved in ongoing fund raising which is not sustainable.
