Free Australian Tala Pauga: Australian parliament to examine Australia's Extradition Laws and Compatibility with Human Rights

Comments

Supporting your human rights, Tala, and all those who exercise their right to free speech. Australian citizens, or any other citizens, outside of Samoa should not have their free speech suppressed because of political motives. Australia's extradition laws need to be reviewed so political motives underlying extradition requests, do not violate Australian citizens' human rights.

I'm signing this petition because I believe that there is no possibility of justice with respect to this prosecution. There is a media ban on the process and the way that the accused's rights are being denied to them in the criminal process. There is no presumption of innocence.

Maua Faleauto (Invercargill, 2020-10-15)

I dont want Tala to be imprisoned on false charges brought by a family member of the Prime Minister of Samoa who has no evidence of such a plot.

This case raises serious human rights' concerns, particularly in Samoa and Australia.

The Samoan Prime Minister Tuilaepa is so corrupted himself. He has eaten all the money/aids the Australian, New Zealand and USA government who donated for the tsunami and for the measles victims. Tuilaepa is a criminal himself. Samoa government is suffered because of this Prime Minister Tuilaepa and his HRPP party.

This is a political motivated action towards an individual who is advocating for human rights, morality and ethical standard of those in power. There's possibilities this is personal vendetta due to for being embarrassed in public.

Im signing because i want fair justice for Tala Pauga

There is no human right in Samoa. Any law suit comes from Samoa is all in the interests of PM trying to silent our right of free speech

This is a direct threat to the freedom of speech in this very country.

This case is politically motivated with a vengeance. Hence Samoa PM wants to have Mr Paunga extradited to be made an example. All a setup by "the Samoan powers that be" to have Mr Paunga behind Samoa prison without parole, until death even.
The sooner this PM of Samoa is voted out of Parliament or otherwise, the better it will be for Samoa as a nation and the Samoan people in general.
Ua maoga Samoa i mo mea "pua'a elo" (A derrogative insulting description given to any human being.
PM of Samoa's own words when addressing the people of Samoa calling them - pua'a elo!)

Mr Pauga will never ever have a fair trial in Samoa ... too much corruption as far as I’m concern .

My people of Samoa are suffering so much from the corruption led by our PM, & it needs to stop. The power of being a PM should never be used to control people by force, & change laws whenever he wants to. That's being a dictator. We are being stripped of our freedom of speech, & human rights. This corruption need to be stopped.

I believe wholeheartedly that Tala Pauga as an Australian citizen should remain in Australia where he will be safe. If he is extradited to Samoa he will be mistreated, he will have an unfair trial and will ultimately be killed. I, along with my family have been following what's been happening in Samoa and are acutely aware of what happens to those who are in disagreement with the SAMOAN Government. Unfortunately your basic civil rights have no substance in Samoa if you disagree with Samoa government policies and put yourself in danger if you speak out. As Tala is an Australian citizen, the Australian government has a duty of care to protect its citizens and has a responsibility that any extradition requests be thoroughly examined assessing possible risk or harm that may come to Tala which I believe will be in this case. Samoa government does not protect or care about its citizens, it's time Australia show them that we care about ours.

The Samoan Prime Minister is a bully and torments the people of Samoa. Please review this law that enables Australians to be extradited without any evidence or trial. This needs to change! Please free Talalelei Pauga if he hasn't committed crimes in Australia that warrants deportation. You save refugees yet you can't protect an innocent Australian and prepare to prosecute him based on a foundless request. Not good enough.

Every citizen deserves a fair trial, otherwise we are living in the Dreamtime.

Samoa is filtered with corrupt leeches under a dictators regime the HRPP party. The prime dictator being prime minister Tuilaepa Sailele.

We all know Tuilaepas intentions, your revenge on Tala is all because he tarnished your pride so you want the ultimate revenge where you get to control his fate.

Tala will not get a fair trial in Samoa and we all know he will be imprisoned for life and possibly be killed in the jails. There are open threats from the Samoan people made publicly on social media forums. If this is to be the outcome then that will be on your head Tuilaepa and also the Australian government.

Protect your fellow citizen Australia 💯

Rona Baskin (Brisbane , 2020-10-16)

I do not believe Tala Pauga should be extradited to Samoa as he will get an unfair trial and most certainly be killed in some way, shape or form. The Samoan prime minister operates above the law. Tala Paugas life is in your hands. Sending him to Samoa is sending him to his death sentence.

Samoan government is corrupt under her leader the Prime Minister. No one is feel safe anymore in Samoa especially when you voice you concern against the government corruption, and its not a Samoa as it used to be Samoa for the Samoan people those days are gone, its Samoa runs by a dictator and his HRPP corrupt Party..sad

Samoa PM Kuilaepa is a dictator a corrupt leader trying to lead Samoa as Communist country he's already done this in Samoa. loaned billions of dollars to do all he wants but use Samoa Customary lands as for security

The Australian government should NOT stand by idly while one of their citizen's is being detained for reasons based on speculation, conspiracy and with absolutely no evidence. It is now going on two month's, and Talalelei is not the only one suffering but also his children, this should be taken in to consideration seriously. The request for extradition is unlawful and breaches on basic human rights. Free Talalele Pauga!

Im singing due to a pure reason That Samoa current government and the current PM (applicant in the matter) is corrupt and violated all of Samoans human rights. The applicant is doing all he could to remove our human rights and the 3 controversial bills he's
proposing is and evidence to that. Samoa is in turmoil atm due to the current PM's and his government's CORRUPTION.. I, with all due respect against the extradition of any Samoan (Aussie Citizen) as Samoa judicialry system is broken and corrupted and NO fair trial is guaranteed...especially when the current PM influenced decision-making in all facts of life and manipulate our judicial processes...

I am a member of the SSIG in Samoa, and Tuilaepa Malielegaoi is the most Corrupted Prime Minister in the world. He can set up anyone who say something against him. I feel for my people back in Samoa.
I am a former chairman, Secretary and Treasure of the Samoan Community Support Services in Western Sydney ink. I don't know Talalelei Pauga personality but I know him on the Facebook. He is one of a few activists of corruption in Samoa. I strongly support not to send Talalelei while he is in power. I'm power means, he is a minister of nearly seven (7) DEPARTMENTS OF THE GOVERNMENT OF SAMOA. Overseas people are too scare to speak up, otherwise, you will be locked up when you come to Samoa. It's like a mafia controlling the country.
In this matter, I am humble to ask you assistance with the Samoan election of parliament in April next year please.
Thanks for helping out Talalelei Pauga. Please, don't send him it's a set up.

Everyone knows that Samoa Government is corrupted and they do as they please. He got angry cause the bro here, was asking him questions about the funds given to Samoa Government to help the people affected. Yet no one saw a dime, now he’s abusing his power to extradite the bro to Samoa, yet wheres the solid evidence to prove he’s guilty of the said crime. Stay woke and don’t be afraid to speak up, cause our people have suffered enough!

Samoa have presented no evidence against the allegations made against Talalelei. Tala Pauga deserves a fair go and a fair trial! This will not exist in the Courts in Samoa and if extradited, he won't stand a chance in a Justice System under the rule of a Dictator #freeTalaPauga
