Opposing the Burswood change of route for Eastern Busway, Pakuranga to Botany - new draft route through Burswood.

Comments

#404

We need a busway that delivers fast, reliable transport options for East Auckland but this route won't do that. AT's appalling "consultation" with local residents is unacceptable.

Damian Light (Auckland, 2021-11-11)

#409

I live in Burswood and support those people that will lose their home if this plan goes through.

Marisa Du Toit (Auckland , 2021-11-12)

#417

You can’t move major arterial routes just because it’s going to save ‘money’.

You sold a concept to residence and potential residence in Burswood. Changing your mind, to save money, is inhumane!!!!!

Jacqui Fyfe (Auckland , 2021-11-12)

#418

I'm signing this because I have friends who live in Burswoof and are devastated to be losing their homes.

Pam Reid (Auckland , 2021-11-12)

#419

I don’t agree with these people losing these houses at a time of a pandemic , also the cost of living is ridiculous .

Troy Lawson (Auckland , 2021-11-12)

#422

I think its wrong that families have to loose their homes, for a bus lane. Families and people should come first.

Hinton Anita (Auckland , 2021-11-12)

#423

Because this is wrong, people matter more than buses.

Giuliani Fabian (Auckland , 2021-11-12)

#425

I am completely opposed to this new venture. This is deviating from the original plan and doing something completely unnecessary. Stop harrassing people and ruining our neighbourhood. Please stick with your original plans which will not affect innocent peoples' lives.

Maheeka Ariyapperuma (Auckland, 2021-11-12)

#427

I used to be a resident of Burswood having lived there for 10yrs. Now I visit very often as my family live in Burswood. This is a ridiculous idea. Why can't Auckland transport find a better alternative than to remove homes. Disgusting. Please go along Ti Rakau Dr and don't play with people's lives.

Asanka Ariyapperuma (Point cook , 2021-11-12)

#428

it is the waste of tax payer‘s money. also govt can not touch private property by any reason. We did nothing wrong but I will lost our home. Any I can not get the other home. I am 73years old!

jiantang wang (akl, 2021-11-12)

#432

Because I protest against Auckland Council & transport. We never seen that new plan cannot that approve. But wait and see result at Panmure to Pakuranga for new Bus bridge and new lay road, first. If not work result, East Auckland Public will meeting at Fenicbles Community against Auckland Council would be suspend cause waste ratepayer ?!!

Michael D (Auckland, 2021-11-12)

#436

It doesn’t make sense for the bus to not go up ti rakau drive, where are these families meant to go once you take their homes? This just seems like poor planning by the council.

Morgan Nahu-Main (Auckland , 2021-11-12)

#437

It's just wrong to takes homes from people that lives in them. Government claimed there's a shortage of houses. Even the compensation is made. I doubt the owners can find the same land size and single level house around the eastern area. This route plans makes no real sense. Even those houses spare will have to face 3 to 4 years of dust and noise from a once cul de sac area that they rent or bought to live for the peace they yearn.

Fong kiat Lee (Auckland , 2021-11-12)

#439

I feel for the house owners in this Area. Not good on Transport making them do this. I also think it is not suitable for a bus route.

Liz Tarpey (Auckland, 2021-11-12)

#443

I'm concerned at what is happening in Burswood

Glenda Chipman (Papamoa , 2021-11-13)

#444

I don't want to see homes being taken away from families during a housing shortage. I also feel it is dangerous to run this new bus way through a suburban area where kids play. It is truly unfair to have neighbors replaced with a bus way. The noise will also effect many homes.

Colin Palmer (Auckland, 2021-11-13)

#446

I'm the owner of the property will have direct impact. It's totally unacceptable to remove our home because of the behindhand plan. 10 Years to build a busway? This is rediculous. Public Transport Plan Should be planned at least 20-30 Years ahead. How many population move into Auckland in 20-30 years time? Do we still need a slow busway by that time?
This community belongs to the residents here. If AT can't make agreement with the commercial shops, they should make their plan better, instead of a worse plan to impact the residents and the community here.

Hui Rong (Auckland , 2021-11-13)

#450

My church and many friends are in the neighborhood/area.

Florence Naidu (Auckland , 2021-11-14)

#453

I oppose the change of bus route without consulting.

Kenneth Marasinghe (Auckland, 2021-11-14)

#455

I'm signing because I'm not convinced that the apparently last minute decision by the Alliance to route the Busway through this quiet residential estate is sensible or reasonable and that it does not take sufficient account of the harm that will be caused to the affected residents or the wider social impact of such placement.

Philip Blank (Auckland, 2021-11-14)

#459

I have friends who live there.

Susan Melling (Auckland, 2021-11-15)

#468

I am feeling unfair to those affected house owners, house price in market very high and they can get enough money to replace a new house. The government should provide them a new house round the area for them.

Kinchi Wong (Auckland, 2021-11-15)

#471

This is a stupid project. Please stop wasting taxpayers' money and destroying their homes.

Mei Chen (Auckland, 2021-11-16)

#474

I don’t want people to have to be force to move from the area. This is NOT what Burswood should become! A commercial bus Hub. There must be an alternative route and keep it on TI Rakau Drive

Gina Sim (Auckland , 2021-11-16)

#476

For solidarity with the residents of Burswood. I also shop in the area regularly

Carl Barber (Auckland, 2021-11-16)

#479

Basically, it’s nonsense. Plain and simple.

Karren White (Auckland, 2021-11-16)

#482

I do not believe demolishing 40 - 50 houses during a Housing crisis and Covid 19 Pandemic is good for our Tamaki Makaurau community. The original route should stand via Te Raukau Rd

James Hobson (Auckland, 2021-11-17)

#483

It deviates from the original proposal and is unfair on home owners in the area.

Logan Hobson (Auckland, 2021-11-17)

#484

I'm signing because I live in Burswood and believe that this last minute change to route the bus lane through my neighborhood is unnecessary and ridiculous. My family has been living in this neighborhood for over 30 years and I am not OK with the amount of traffic you are planning to route through our neighborhood. The fact that you would invoke the public works act upon our neighbors just shows how little you have thought about how this plan would affect our community. I am very much against the bus route through Burswood.

Morgan Hobson (Auckland, 2021-11-17)

#489

I have friends who are living in Burswood and I feel that this diversion will impact on this quiet community in a negative way and impact on the environment negatively

Christine Brown (Auckland, 2021-11-18)

#491

1. this is not the original plan/route as specified in previous and existing documents
2. there is no need to divert into Burswood for 1 bus-stop
3. it will unnecessarily destroy 40 homes in a quiet residential suburb during a significant housing shortage in Auckland.
4. it will be an additional cost of $40 million + for this alteration for 1 bus-stop
5. it is no longer a direct route and creates the need for 2 extra traffic lights, therefore delays for the bus and congestion for the residents of Burswood
6. this is an abhorrently cruel and unnecessary change to place upon 40 families during a pandemic when an existing sensible plan exists, and will add no real cost-benefit to the general public as a whole.

Ngaire-Ann Hobson (Auckland, 2021-11-18)

#495

I’m signing because this affects a family member

Dianne Hamilton (Wollongong , 2021-11-19)

#498

I’m signing because I live in Burswood.

Dongxia Ma (Auckland, 2021-11-20)

#504

I believe there is a better alternative than uprooting people from their homes, particularly in this stressful climate of Covid. Why should these residents have this placed on them now when this was not the initial plan? Besides, does the Council have any idea how many cars will be removed from our busy roads by the construction of this bus lane?

LORAINE GRANT (NORTHPARK, 2021-11-23)

#505

I'm signing because this is absolutely ridiculous, the ti Rakau drive idea is just as stupid, but considering this is unfair especially with what's already happend with Covid 19 now these poor people that have lived there for years have stress on there shoulders to move. It's bullshit

Jessie Lee (Auckland, 2021-11-24)

#506

Unfair for the homeowners on this change that was never the original plan. Housing is already a shortage in Auckland and now 40-50 families will be unfairly out of the housing market. House prices and Interest rates have just gone up with further increases expected .. how are these families expected to find new suitable homes.

Taryn Farnaby (Auckland, 2021-11-24)

#507

I intend moving to the Burswood area.

Kavi Sewdayal (Auckland, 2021-11-24)

#510

This is people's livelihoods that AT is stuffing around with. I thought we had a shortage of housing, so why pull down some unnecessarily. There is no reason why AT can't stick to their original plan which doesn't effect people's homes/livelihood. Purchasing a house is a legal transaction, no one every should be forced to sell it if they don't wish to, unless its a matter of safety. AT, stop messing with peoples lives. And great timing, you've totally messed up these people's Christmas, who no doubt along with most of us, are already stressed over Covid. Shame on you!

Penny Ross (Auckland, 2021-11-24)

#511

It will definitely lower the value of all properties in Burswood

Janice Brown-Bayliss (Auckland, 2021-11-24)

#513

This is a ridiculous detour, when there is a direct route along Terakau Dr. Why upset a quiet little community and force people from there homes when there is already a direct route. Its just crazy

Lisa Cooper (Auckland, 2021-11-25)

#514

What a ridiculous idea to waste money buying houses in Burswood!
A main road from Botany along Te Rakau is the only sensible and cost effect way.

Mrs C Gardiner (Auckland, 2021-11-25)

#515

It will cost a lot lot more money, that the ratepayer has not got. What is wrong with the Ti Rakau road . Any way i think the hole thing is a waste of ratepayers money. We the ratepayer should have a say.

Grant Boylan (Auckland, 2021-11-25)

#517

AT are obsessed with Busways and cycleways and forget people still need to use their cars to go supermarketing shopping, take their kids to school and sport, etc apart from going to work each day people still need their cars for all other day to day activities - there are many areas in Eastern Auckland that are not on a transport hub. We are not like Europe or the UK where they have efficient transport options and people live closer to their schools and shops.

Caroline Smith (Auckland, 2021-11-26)

#519

got to be the most irrational idea ever thought up by this daft council! a dedicated bus lane is also as daft as it is only busy at peak times -- look at the northern bus lane its a white elephant off peak and n absolute concrete eyesore-- if you come back from the north any weekend its a slog on the motorway but no, the bus lane is empty- how about copying other cities where there is one big slab of road- 6 lanes and busses have priority in slow lane during peak times,, not rocket science- just common sense

anthony reid (Dorkland, 2021-11-27)

#520

I THNK IT IS WRONG.

Trudi Joseph (Auckland New Zealand, 2021-11-27)

#521

I'm signing because I think it is a waste of money and traumatizes all the residents living in the area. There is also the lack or consultation and ridiculous offers to the owners of the properties.

Ken Nicholls (Auckiland, 2021-11-27)

#523

I am signing because, after reading through the proposed new route and the reasons given by Auckland Transport for the proposed changes, I do not believe this is the best plan.
Not only is the taking and destroying of 40 or more quality Auckland family homes, for the sake of cheaper bus route, absolutely shocking, (especially given Aucklands current housing shortage), but to do so when there are other alternatives that don't require the loss of these homes, is outrageous.
To claim that one reason for the change is to provide access for more people, but then the new route is taking the bus station away entirely, from the businesses based in the industrial and commercial area on the opposite side f Ti Rakau Drive, whose staff and customers would find the new station location more inconvenient, makes no sense?...Who are these "More People" that this relocation will be providing access too? It can't be the local Burswood community, as they are already quite used to walking to Ti Rakau Drive to catch a bus after the local route, along Burswood Drive, was stopped and removed from service quite some time ago, due to a lack of use. So it's not the locals, it's not the staff nor customers of nearby businesses, who is it?..
Many of the reasons given for this relocation are flawed and I believe it is being proposed for one reason only, Auckland Transport believe it will be the path of least resistance. Rather than dealing with commercial property owners and the local community, who are going to have to persevere with 5 years of delays along Ti Rakau drive as this work takes place. Auckland Transport would prefer to stand over and displace 40 or more Burswood families and create longterm problems for the Burswood community. I do not support this new proposed route.

Leon Law (Perth, 2021-12-02)

#526

I'm sure there are other options than creating a busway through Burswood which will disrupt so many families in this beautiful suburb

Samantha Fong (Auckland, 2021-12-07)

#527

I am signing because this proposed change is certainly not a good design for the local community and also not for the wider community. The new busway should go straight along To Rakau Drive.

Helen Lam (Auckland, 2021-12-07)

#528

There is news about housing shortage and now you want to kick people out of their houses with their hard earned money? This is a joke! With the current housing market, where are these people going to find a house with the same specs with the money that AT will pay them? The main users of the public transport are people who work. So putting the bus route in Burswood is going to disrupt the quiet neighbourhood, with random people walking into their small community daily, while all the working people in the light industry area of East Tamaki will have to walk into Burswood. What was wrong with the initial plan of putting the route on Ti Rakau Dr? That is most beneficial for both parties!

Karen Lee (Auckland, 2021-12-08)

#530

Iam signing this because i haven't been given formal letter to explain what happened and why is happening, we are Not happy with the plan at all.

Ting Yan (Auckland, 2021-12-09)

#532

I'm sick of ratepayers being treated like cashcows to used and abused by this council and it's subsidiaries, they're putting the valuations off so they can get these homes cheap meaning the people they are kicking out will probably never afford to replace it except with a huge mortgage if they will even get a mortgage now.Auckland is being run by money hungry scum who don't give a damn about Aucklanders welfare

Gary Jackson (Auckland, 2022-01-27)

#536

I live in Burswood and know that putting the Bus Way through will increase the crime in the area and de-value the housing. It is also going to turn Burswood into High Density Housing. This will always have an adverse effect in the area.

Shifu John (Auckland, 2022-02-28)

#540

Because I don't want to get disturb on my retirement. More over Burswood will loose its serenity.
Most of us are in our retirement.

Cynthia Stanley (Burswood, 2022-04-30)

#542

I do not agree with this new bus route this will affect our peaceful and the safety of our children.

Margaret Tangiia Umurua (Auckland, 2022-06-29)

#544

Signing because this is a dumb idea and has completely blind sighted the poor residents who have been told to vacate

SAMUEL WEST (Auckland, 2022-07-09)

#545

I'm signing because this is a stupid idea when there is a housing Crisis, you guys go on about environmental friendly options but end up demolishing 40-50 houses. No one uses buses everyone has a car, if you want the bus lane do it on the road not around the road. Another suggestion would be to go through the commercial area which would have less impact on people and the community where people are living. If you put bus lane cameras in one lane you will make more money then spending. Just change the car lane to a bus lane is the cheapest option and extend the road.
