Friends of Thorpe Woodlands - petition against proposal to build 300 houses over this Wildlife Site

The exhibition put on by SCC was misleading and the questions on their survey document are totally biased towards the outcome they want. Of course we all want green space in Thorpe and access to walks/trails etc. but not at the expense of destroying the woodland! It's a County Wildlife Site for a reason, the biodiversity would be massively impacted by a housing development. I understand the need for housing but not in a wood that defines the town of Thorpe St Andrew. There is a lot of development going on in Broadland which is open space, why the need to destroy the woods!

Because these are really lovely old woodlands and people in Thorpe St Andrew need somewhere to walk -it helps people's wellbeing and we should consider this and the wildlife that lives there. Do we want to live in a concrete jungle???

I grew up backing onto this woodland. I am now 57 my parents still live there it is a lovely wood and marks the beginning of the countryside and end of surburbia.

Because this is an important wildlife site that should be protected. Wildlife is being squeezed out all around the UK by insensitive developments. This has to stop because, once destroyed these places cant be 'recreated' by planting a few saplings and a few shrubs. Their biodiversity has evolved over many years.

I am inherently against building any new homes until the problem of overpopulation is taken seriously. Yet to cut down woodland for this purpose is morally wrong and if home must be built the n there must be more appropriate sites found.

The woods need preserving and alternative sites for new homes found. There is simply too much other waste land and other areas particularly in the city and surrounding areas which could and should be developed first.

Woodland like this is fast becoming a thing of the past due to development, people need green spaces to use so there quality of life is not degraded.

Destroying woodland for housing is not in anyones interest apart from the developers. Leave woodland alone! It's home to many more creatures than the number of humans who would be housed in their place.

Norfolk county council is determined to destroy all of countryside to only benefit greedy landlords

I am signing the petition to help save Thorpe Woodlands and its wildlife from being annilated for the sake of nothing but greed. Contrary, to what some may people believe, animals do not understand relocation and where is this alternative free safe land for them to relocate ??

County Wildlife Sites need to be protected.

Too much woods and natural environments are being destroyed to make way for developers to make money with no care to what they are doing. We have to understand as humans that we don't own earth and we are destroying it. Eventually we'll not have anything left

This woodland should be cherished for what it is not built on to make second rate housing, how many tens of thousands (literally) more do the greedy developers think we need or can sustain in our community?

To save our Woodland

Because wildlife can flourish in natural habitats enabling flora and fauna to prosper giving local residents health and well being.
