i. Not all students have the access of stable internet connection. Therefore, pursuing online classes will only be detrimental to these students and the quality of the education given and received will be challenged.
ii. In line with the core value of UNC, 'Championing Excellence' I believe that pursuing this online classes doesn't guarantee the quality of education that the institution wants to embody. This is because not all professors are techy, and not (like abovesaid) all students are capable to have an access to this form of education. It needs more time of planning, to cater all the students.


Given all the considerations above, I believe that the administration should take these inputs in their account. We all want to ensure the safety of the students and pursuance of a just and right quality of education, however, online class is not an effective means to forward these goals.

I'm signing because online class is a complete hassle for students who don't have access to a stable internet connection and the curriculum that UNC offers is not designed to be held and teach online. Although it is time for us to be flexible and adapt in the situation, being resourceful is not just enough. The worry of not being able to attend classes and to comply to the requirements that must be submitted online is more instilled to students than worrying for themselves and their families' sake in the weeks span of community quarantine.

I'm signing this because I do not have a stable wifi signal, I'm only using a pocket wifi, and it needs to be loaded. Even if I have money to load my pocket wifi, still, the signal is the problem. Before the susupension, the signal was okay, but when the suspension started, since many are using wifi at the same time, the signal of wifi became poor

Good day! I’m signing this petition for following reasons:

First, since we are facing an issue with regards to covid19 globally, it’s better for the students to focus first on their health and safety instead of thinking on how to solve a 1+1 equation in school.

Second, let’s consider the fact that not all students have their internet access. For example, students from remote area’s are most likely failed to join the program online.

Third, since the issue is very alarming, I strongly support the liberty and right of the students to have their break first in school.

For me as a student, it's very hurd for us to have internet connection specially for those student doesn't have money for every load for data connection and also we are suffering for the ncov-19 and aside from that each person are affecting for this situation how ever those family of every student of the unc are not reach or enough money and because of this situation also financial needs of every family are affecting, it's very hurd for every student to have online classes because we are not sure that all of us have stable connection or wifi or data and also we are not sure if every student have gadget for communicate, for me in my situation and base on what happen what we need to do is focus on how we can survive for this ncov-19 and to make sure that every one are safe. Let's make practical we have dangerous virus and we suffer for this situation and those family i think suffer because of financial needs, why we need to pursue to have online class if every one don't have stable life style. I'm so worried in my self and my family to make that every one are safe and for now because of this crisis i am not agree for the online class because this situation are not joke for every one

The idea of online classroom is great as an alternative way to be still in touch with the lecture however there are some personal reasons that may be consider such as;
1. Not all of the students are previleged to have a stable internet connection, not all of the households has a WiFi.
2. We are out of resources. Some subject specially in Architecture requires materials for laboratory. The stores are starting to close and we were not able to stock up materials that are needed.
3. We will put our lives into a great risk if we try to sacrifice looking for an internet cafe to do such things that should be summited online.
4. For me, Online Class is not effective in disseminating information.
5. It would be too costly for us to buy load since almost all of the subject requires online class.
6. To sum it all up. It's not accessible.
This is to explain the side of each students out there who are trying to do school works regardless of what is happening around us all. We are asking for each Professionals/ Prof's for their deep understanding and consideration. Thank you and stay safe.

Not every students has internet connection & enough materials such as laptops, and not everyone has the same level of understanding when lessons,especially in majors, are given online that should be given and discussed face to face.
