Traffic lights between Barton Road & the A580 Lancaster Road

What a terrible tragic loss of life

There has been too many accidents near here and it needs to be stopped!

We will never stop the careless thoughtless people who drive on our roads, but we can help to limit and reduce the amount of lives we loose with preventive measures put in place.

Great idea. I vote on this aswell. Speed cameras and more police survaliance is the only way things are going to change.

Yes I do agree with this, its so easy for people to just show off in the cars down the East Lancs and I have seen a number of people bombing it down there with disregard to speed cameras or the traffic lights that go down this stretch of the Dual Carriageway, its just a pitty they couldn't add some sort of filter lane to join on to the east lancs (they already have a small filter lane if you see past the junction where Halfords is, its around near that area).

But yes you have my support on this.

Traffic lights won't stop what happened unfortunately need to bring back hanging or death penalty just may be this will stop them.

The junction at the bottom of Barton Rd Swinton onto the A580 East Lancashire Road has got to be one of the most dangerous junctions in the whole of Salford. I always find it unpredictable as it's very hard to judge how fast the cars are coming to your right. Traffic lights are a MUST! I can not believe that Salford City Council would dither at this about cost! What's money compared to a life!

I think this is so tragic and the lights should be put in place ... Everyone should sign this xx

it was so sad that Aaron and amy lost there lives on that strech of road there should be traffic lights on the east lancs road and cameras

If traffic lights are not put in place, as they are at the majority of junctions along the lancs, please consider blocking the off the cetral reservation (even though it would inconvenience myself being a resident living off barton rd) so that no cars have to take chance of crossing the lancs with between oncoming traffic.

Please make sure these two young peoples deaths were not in vain, please keep signing the petition, too many lives are lost on the East Lancs Road.

Too .many lives have been lost on this road it needs traffic lights and speed camaras. no other families should suffer loss at this spot.

I use this part of the lancs every day more than 4 times a day but since the death off my friends at this junction I no longer use it as it scares me to use it because of the incident, it's important that traffic lights get put their. All the other junctions have them, why not this one ?

Too many death for far too long

Traffic lights are definately needed at the Barton Road East Lancs Road junction.
Vehicle have great difficulty in entering and leaving the East Lancs Road at this point because of the speed of the traffic.
Even though the speed limit is now 40mph vehicle still speed between the current speed cameras at Pendleton and Worsley Road. I have family including 3 young grandchildren living on that stretch of Road and we constantly live in fear of speeding vehicles mounting the pavement and hitting the houses,
Action must be taken now before more lives are lost.
