NOOOOO!!!! Very sad news to hear and beg to differ from this brutal decision. The politicians must find another way to finance and support this body of talented musicians who has been in operation for over 80 years. Culture is for everyone! I hope this petition will render a large effect from all of us signing this. All best, Benjamin Staern, composer and music librarian of Malmö Opera.

Please help save the jobs of these musicians, who have worked their entire lives to attain the level they are at. Their career training began when then were children. It's their life. This orchestra is a rare find and needs to be saved. Once it's gone it can't be replaced.

This orchestra occupies a unique position in Danish cultural life - its classical recordings are world class, and the sheer breadth of its output is unrivaled. To lose this amount of talent, expertise, collective spirit and experience would be a tragedy. What would be lost will be gone forever. A great and irreversible mistake is being made.

If cuts need to implemented look elsewhere. In times of austerity the arts can keep people happy.

Music and Culture help to feel and keep oneself a human being. No need to cut on this.

Det bliver svært at betale licens for alt det amatør underholdning DR ellers byder på.

Power play, politics and that which is worse...why sacrifice DR's Entertainment Orchestra a very successful, competent, popular ensemble so that a bigger, more ambitious ensemble like the Danish Symphony Orchestra can have more resources. Why is there not space for both? Big is not always Beautiful.

Drop X-Faktor og MGP, så er der råd til to mere end ét orkester

Closing this fine institution would be a terrible loss to the community and the world. Surely there are solutions to be found

Less culture means less intelligence. We can't pretend to have a brilliant future by cutting the amount of culture given to people. We have advanced as a civilization thanks to culture. In fact it is culture, more than anything else, that gives a link to our past and future, and gives us the means and the strength to continue growing. Let's not mess with it!

I wish all my colleagues at the Danish National Chamber Orchestra many continued years of great music making. Denmark ( and the world) deserves no less. Disbanding this organization would be a National cultural CATASTROPHY and should NOT be allowed, PERIOD!

Killing culture is undermining world peace, tolerance and the youth brain development. A chamber orchestra brings the right rich repertoire on an affordable base to the children with a great flexability.

If it is supported from a broadcasting company then it is a taxpayer money and people should now stand together not let to destroy the culture. I mean money should go to the right direction because without the culture there are no national identy.

The choice to sacrifice this orchestra is a shocking cultural scandal. It takes decades or centuries to build an orchestra of this caliber and breadth of genre and audience. Save the Danish Chamber Orchestra, perhaps by liberating it from Denmark's Radio, and thus liberating it from politicians. Couldn't the great patrons of Danish culture support the orchestra instead of paying for more buildings?

Closing DR Underholdningsorkesteret is a terrible blow to musical culture in Denmark.
