All union reps who are traveling for any type of union business should be D2!!  I have been bumped off of jumpseat several times in STL for local reps traveling to DFW.

They do not need any more perks than payed trip removals . Their primary duty has always been to bail out the bottom feeders among our ranks instead of aggressively fight for a better contract.

A5 Union Retirement Perk

There have been a few APFA union Board of Directors that have been trying to abolish this practice since 2009. However, there have been others that have stood in the way at ever opportunity either out of fear from reprisal, loyalty or out of hope that one day they too will rise to the position of National Officer and retire with this discriminating and conflict of interest perk. Taking this away adds a layer of trust, long over due, that indicates those aspiring to lead this union as a Natinal Officer are doing so out of the good of the membership and NOT for their own.

Such a disgusting disgrace - sorry, but our union president is STILL just a Flight Attendant, but one with an office and already questionable perks - you applied for a job as a Flight Attendant, not a passenger. Your "service" at ApFA makes you 0% more deserving to positive space than any of the rest of us, and this from a former AFA rep. Perhaps your efforts would be better served by renegotiating our profit sharing than worrying about your own positive-space vacations.

Retired employees get a reduced status and have put years of dedicated work for the company and get less that gracious appreciation.

So much great feedback on this petition. Clearly it is long overdue. BOD meeting next week....we need as many signatures as possible to get action at the TOP of APFA. A BOD member has it on the agenda. This petition gives him leverage!

The fact that a union rep gets more from the co than the co is willing to give to the entire membership that said union rep is supposed to represent, is a conflict of interest. And it needs to stop

She  has rewarded herself handsomely while in office as did her predecessors, it is time for this "perk" to stop! It is a shame that ourso called "union" only benefits a few rather than the whole. It  is shameful that our retirees are relegated to D2R status while those who should have fought on our behalf enjoy A5 status, disgusting!

Our Union continues to fail us and sell us out to the unfair work rules of Corporate America. I do not feel that these people need or deserve travel privileges after retirement. We apparently do not either! APFA continues to fail all of us! Thanks for taking money from my check every two weeks for doing absolutely nothing for me or my co workers but selling us out to ridiculous work rules and unfair practice!

No retired union officer should enjoy a benefit greater than those afforded other retirees in the APFA membership. I would also like to see the A5 removed from any union officer already retired who has been granted them.

This is outrageous. While the D2R priority was sprung on retirees, they continue to accept a perk that cost 3 million+ in the NM catalogue and at the same time using FC inventory that could be available for our frequent flyers. Despicable!

No retired union officer is deserving of a higher priority of any of their former constituents. It is especially disgusting after the creation of D2R for the retirees.
