Because there are so many melanoma sufferers in NZ and there is no other medication that works.

I signed this petition because my brother has had a very difficult battle with melanoma for several years and l know the importance this drug can and will make for those battling such a devastating cancer. This is a crucial option that should be accessible for all New Zealander's now and in the future as to date this drug is a very important breakthrough for a cancer with limited treatment options at present.

I have a family member who urgently needs the drug Keytruda. I think it is sad that those most in need cannot get free access to it when the Government can spend untold on a flag referendum which is of no use at all and could have been better spent on health. It is a matter of priorities and in this case Pharmac and the Government have got it wrong!

My mum needs this therapy and it's impossible to think she can be treated until we run out of money. Life is worth more.

Because my closest friend of 26 years died very recently because she was mucked around for ages in
Order to even be able to get this treatment unfounded - if it had been funded and been available earlier it may have been successful
And instead of wondering how we can ever except she is gone - aged 48 , her husband, children. Little grandchildren, here mum and dad and brother and her husband family and all the rest of us who love her, we could maybe have enjoyed her in our lives for a long time to come!!!

My father has Melanoma, Keytruda could help.

Cost of treatment is estimated at $300,000 - cost to change NZ flag $30m+ - we could have treated over 100 people, that would impact on many 1,000's of lives.

Second petition at change dot org, please sign this one too.

$30m required to save kiwis from dying from melanoma $28m required to change the kiwi flag for John Keys legacy $5m required for two Pandas to keep John Keys wife happy $20 required to educate foreign drivers on how to drive Which one of these would you chose. God Pharmac do you not realise that Advanced Melanoma dosnt just effect the cancer sufferer. With each Melanoma sufferer there would be dozens of people effected, if not hundreds, Emotionally. Financially. Physically. What price a human life ,well pharmac now knows. a human life is worth nothing. If Pharmac would even give a dam on what the public say would astound me.Talk money and BAM. What price a human life. $0000000.The death of our fellow humans , who Pharmac can help, through Adanced Melanoma, is on your back Pharmac. You CAN help but chose not to.Seems no different than arriving at an accident scene and knowing you could help but instead just sitting on the curb and watching someone die. This in my eyes aquates to, at the very least involintary manslauter. how much a human life $00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000. From the step dad of a 22 year old Advanced Melanoma sufferer.

#11: Parent number -  hi Trev, sending much love to you and your family. We have been though the same battle and we support your comment 110%. It is cruel, unfair, and unjust. We are hoping to build pressure so it is not too late like it was for us.

Because my friend has Melanoma and because I think that taxpayers money is better spent on this type of thing rather than on other frivolous things.
