because I believe he has not been treated in a fair and just manner nor a proper investigation done to arbitrarily sack without any sort of defence being heard is not right

I'm upset that a hard working New Zealander was dismissed for defending himself while being attacked by a number of drunks when he was on duty.
Also that Western Bay of Plenty District Council breached the provisions of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 by not providing a safe working environment for Jarron.
It's the management who dismissed Jarron who should be investigated and disciplined for not supporting their employee.
Jarron deserves better and should be reinstated while an independent and impartial investigation is conducted into both the assault incident and the manner in which WBOPDC council behaved after the incident occurred.

Most blatant disregard for employee rights possible.

Bureaucracy does not know or understand reality. New Zealand is becoming a nanny state and local and central government take the easy way out

Because if a caretaker of an area takes responsibility to confront a bunch of drunken rowdy pricks in the middle of the night he deserves a bonus not the sack.

Because this man had a right to defend himself against being assaulted.

Freedom campers of that caliber should bought to account. Unfortunately they spoil it all for the majority who are good.

It appears that there is more to this than we are being told and from what has been published it appear to be unjust dismissal

People in the Bay of Plenty are not the only ones who utilise the park. The investigation was biased and the wbopdc did not support their employee at all. When the outcome is decided before the investigation is complete it is constructive dismissal. Last I checked that is a breach of employment law.

I don't know the actual situation that lead to the sacking, but Jarron has been instrumental in myself and my horse riding friends having many fantastic adventures at TECT Park. Jarron always visits and takes time to answer our questions, suggest rides, and listen carefully to our ideas for more improvement. I would be very saddened to find no Jarron there when HORSE Club next visits TECT Park. Good luck Jarron - TECT Park will be a worse place without your knowledge and support.

So there is a fair investigation as to what happened and why.

This guy deserves a chance he was only protecting the tech park. Go home losers who caused all the trouble in the first place !

I have signed this petition because Jarron McInnes is a fantastic park ranger who has devoted his daily life and that of his families to living and loving what he does for a living. He has and will do an excellent job for the park and the region. If he goes a HUGE asset to the community goes with him.

He was doing his job, he should never have been sacked, too many foreign visitors have no respect when freedom camping in NZ. They don’t clean up after themselves leaving litter, faeces etc behind. They have in turn spoilt it for many campers

This is a good family man. Dismissal showed a complete lack intelligence on the part of the councils office. The situation the Ranger found himself and was unavoidably difficult. The focus should be on freedom campers and alcohol, not hard-working Park Rangers.

Because his dismissal seems unfair, he may not have done it by the book but no one should be attacked in their place of work and not defend themselves.

Jarron deserves better. Are we not NZlrs for a better future or not. Councils need new age, new structuring. Out with the old in with the new
