I have lived in Plymstock since 1968 and recently moved back into the house I lived in as a child. There was nothing local for the kids to do then and still nothing now. As an older person I too would like the ability to exercise and enjoy leisure time locally.

A much needed asset for Plymstock.

A swimming pool should be located in the heart of a thriving Plymstock community. Close to easy bus access library and shopping, where people can enjoy a full day of activities. As a long term resident I find it difficult to put "thriving" and "Plymstock" into the same sentence. Move forward council, enough is enough.

The children of Plymstock need and deserve the access to a local pool to learn to swim. We live in britians Ocean city every child here should be able to swim. The government are constantly telling our children to be active and address obesity but neglect to provide basic facilities. It's pure greed on the councils part to allow planning permission for private flats to be developed in the prime location behind the broadway.

Plymstock needs a public swimming pool

What about converting the former Co-operative  store site at the end of the Broadway into a Plymstock Swimming Pool

Guest#83 Sep 08, 2016, 14:54
Because I live in Plymstock and it's a very brilliant idea to have our own swimming pool in Plymstock.
Thank you.

Plymstock has never had a decent size swimming pool it has been promised for many years I have brought my children up here always had to travel further afield more and more houses are being built in Oreston and Hooe for young and the old and yes it is about time we had a swimming pool.

Plymstock Swimming Pool...

I have lived in Plymstock for 45 years, & have family members, of all ages who would benefit from this. Why has it taken so many years to achieve any action ? Money obviously, but it would appear that, despite Plymstock being such a large & lovely community with so many supporting this, we remain invisible & unheeded. What can we do to get this off the ground ?

plymstock needs a swimming pool for everbody this side of the city
Guest#90 Sep 25, 2016, 13:42
The pool is long overdue and would be used a lot more than the Morley cycle bridge.
Guest#91 Sep 25, 2016, 14:21
For healthreasons a local swimming pool will be invaluable..

Plymstock needs a swimming pool its as simple as that, re a site why not the empty co-op shop at the broadway, or dean cross park, over the top of pomphletts lake next to breakwater road
Guest#93 Sep 26, 2016, 15:55
I live in Plymstock and due to the new housing developments (Saltram Meadow and Sherford) there will be thousands more families moving here.
I currently travel to Plympton to take my daughter for swim lessons and that is also the closest pool to us to go for a family swim.

Re: Plymstock pool

#1: -  Plymstock needs this kind of facility to better the health of all ages. The nearest pools ar quite a distance for young and elderly.

Possible site - Saltram meadow new estate!
Guest#96 Sep 29, 2016, 15:22
The people of Plymstock have been campaigning for a swimming pool ever since I moved here nearly 30 years ago. Council candidate after council candidate has promised one, yet once elected, nothing ever happens. There are suitable sites in Plymstock: Downham School site and Downhorn Park for example. For God's sake, let's not just have words and empty promises, let's have some action.
Guest#97 Oct 01, 2016, 15:25
I believe Plymstock should have its own swimming pool. The proposed site on the Sherford estate will not benefit Plymstock residents, particularly those that cannot drive. Downham School would be an ideal site.

Plymstock must be the only area of Plymouth that doesn't have a pool

I signed petition for swimming pool because we live very close to the sea also enjoy water sports; as parents we feel it is safety first but also wanted children to feel confident in the water.  We have supported the Plymstock pool since my daughter was born and that is 25 Years ago....! Not only that but have contributed over the years quite an amount of cash into the scheme, I can't believe Plymstock has no pool after all this time would like someone to explain why plympton has been able to have a pool and Plymstock hasnt!

i look forward to hearing any explanation Thank you
