I don't want the category cut from the Olympics

I used to be a rower myself in the lightweight category, would love to see this event continue to feature in Olympics. This event also helps to promote rowing amongst athletes who do not have to weight to be competitive in the open category.

Everyone should have an opportunity to row everywhere, despite of growth, weight, age, origin...

Because it is absolutely different then heavy weights. Natural Lightweits are great and longlasting! They Need to be respected and give them a chance also to show their possibilities.

Let's keep the most spectacular, closest and most competitive rowing events. Having constraints on the weight of the crews is contributing to exactly this!

Not everyone will become an Olympic rower but if there are no lightweight Olympic categories then many people will be put off from starting the sport.

To keep the diversity in rowing, so its not only for people much bigger than the average person

Great sport

I believe that lightweights are a majority of the world population. Excluding lightweights disenfranchises most of the world's potential rowers. It is like having one class for weight lifting, wrestling, or boxing.

Rowing is a perfect sport. In DK we have water everywhere...

Lightweight Rowing is a unique sport. It allows extraordinary athletes to compete on a level playing field. It allows average weight people to row against similarly-sized people. It epitomizes the Olympic spirit of fair contests in a way that open-weight rowing cannot. As a concussion-free sport it should be promoted in our athletic culture.

I'am a lightweight rower trying to get into national level, and eventually international. And I also belive in gender equality and that women should have the same oppportunities as men in sports, especially in the Olympics

I believe that lightweight rowing has really improved the spectacle of world rowing.
More importantly, it gives an aspirational pathway for grassroots rowing. get rid of it, lightweight rowing will be a club sport only and die.

Light weight rowing has since 1996 at the Olympics been some of the best racing, most exciting, entertaining and inspiring.

Many Olympic sports have different categories, weightlifting, judo and boxing . Rowing is an inclusive sport when it includes lightweight and heavy weight. we need more lightweight events not less .

Because light weight rowing is a very important discipline. The rower´s weight has a big influence on the result in the boat so why make it a sport only for "big guys and girls".

Lightweight rowing keeps this wonderful sport open and available for smaller rowers to compete at the highest level.

Lightweight rowing opens up the sport to a group of people who would otherwise be excluded from success. It also creates great racing as all competitors are similar physically so don't have advantages over each other.

So in law won gold in Bejing Olympics in light weight

I believe in the preservation of lightweight rowing to give more athletes a chance to compete in the sport.

Why should only heavyweights get to experience the Olympics? Lightweights are just as athletic and skilled in the sport, and derserve to be represented. Diversity and equality should be encouraged at all levels, and the Olympics should not just be about rewarding those who have a genetic advantage.

Please keep lightweight rowing

I believe ltwt rowing should be kept. It offers opportunities to other rowers.
