STOP TRASHING OUR BUFFALO CITY METRO

I would suggest we get legal opinion regarding the monthly fee payable for refuse removal service. Should we not demand a credit from BCMM? If we withold, they will only cut our electricity on a Friday afternoon, resulting in no electricity for a whole weekend. Thanks

Enough is enough ! This City deserves better !

What is going on in our Metro is totally wrong we pay for these service.

I have always detested EL being referred to as "Slummies" and yet as I drive around our once beautiful city I now see why it is called that. It saddens me how EL is getting worse day by day with regards to the lack of maintenance and cleanliness, what are our rates and taxes monies being spent on ?

Council - Get the Army in to collect the refuse, plus run the essential water purification and sewerage works this is too an important a weekend for our city too look like this.

BCM totally incompetent, where is back up plan? Refuse collection has always been a problem why has it not been privatized?

Strikers are hopefully on 'no work, no pay' so use the money to get private companies to clear up our town. They will do a better job anyway as refuse people in our area pick up what they want to and leave the rest of the household rubbish scattered around for us to pick up and repack

I used to live in East London and find it so sad that a beautiful city is being ruined.

Why not make those in our prisons do the cleaning up - those that could work outside under supervision.

Surely as a diligent rates payer I am able to subtract payment for the 2 weeks that no service was delivered. municipality(government)seems to be the only institution(business) where you still get paid, even though you did not provide the service required. Imagine going to the shop and paying for a loaf of bread but you do not received it. This needs to stop now. If we all stand together and don't pay for the non service delivery surely they will soon sort out the problems.

I hope that this petition has some effect. I personally doubt it. The only way BCM will take notice is if we touch their pockets and stop paying rates and taxes. By law, we need to only pay for services received, which is lights and water.

Please return to the negotiations table and resolve the deadlock.

Africa open in Slum town???

A whole people's welfare, safety and security is overly compromised as a result of a dispute that could be resolved amicably, quicker for the benefit of the East London society primarily but the rest of Eastern Cape residents generally. The filth in East London's streets is not only a shame to see but an immediate and present danger to all including vulnerable groups such as women, children and the disabled. This should not happen in a caring society.

Would a huge silent march down Oxford Street help? Maybe not a good idea given the trash there!

I support the petition fully. even if it was not for weekend sport, this is a health hazzard and very negetive for the socio economic conditions of our metro.

Council and SAMWU deserve each other. Buffalo City deserves neither.

BCM management is a complete disgrace to this beautiful city. Its time to stand up and be counted. Get the rubbish off the streets, and the rubbish out of local government. We are hosting two top sporting events which showcase our city, and it is strewn with rotting garbage - SHAME ON YOU! Your overpaid, useless municipal workers are holding you and the rest of the citizens of Buffalo City to ransom, so grow a pair, and get someone else to do the job. But you will probably pay them all double time to clean up their own mess on Sunday. At our expense. The time for a change of government has definitely come.

I pay my municipal account in full every month and expect services. I do not see why their problems have to be ours. East London looks like a rubbish dump.

Clean up this mess.

The state of the East London Metro is absolutely disgusting and deteriorating daily.

what a mess this city is in and final straw was the behaviour of the Union members who trashed the city hall of all places.the Unions should be held accountable and made to pay / repair the damges caused on their account as they are the main instigators in this fiasco.
