As someone who would not be able to contemplate negotiating the very steep and numerous steps in order to get to and from the station platforms, I should benefit enormously from the station lifts which we request.

Stop treating the travelling public like cattle.

I choose a step-free route when travelling by rail/tube and it can work very well except for my home station when I return. Bad knee arthritis means I am hobbling when I get back to Amersham and the steps are just a painful, slow end to the day. Many times people have helped me on the stairs especially if I have any significant luggage. It sort of negates all the rest of the efforts to make travel easier for people who struggle with stairs. I am not yet incapable of travelling to London but this sure does not raise morale. I wish you well with the petition.

Lifts are essential for both the up line and the down line for those with even slightly impaired mobility.

Money has already been spent starting stepfree access at Amersham Station. It should now be finished as soon as possible so this initial investment is not wasted and all travellers have equality of access

It is ridiculous not to have step free access in this day and age, especially for the elderly and disabled

The CAUSE for a lift is the architecture of Amersham Rail Station having ONLY ONE ENTRANCE / EXIT requiring a means for crossing the track when leaving trains on the "DOWNSIDE" line platform.
Since the station was built a BRIDGE served by TWO SETS of STAIRS has to be used to cross the tracks to the exit / entrance side.
This is an impossibility for wheelchair users and ambulant challenged pedestrians.
An ALL ACCESS MEANS IS LONG OVERDUE.

I am 82 and we moved to a flat in Amersham partly to get away from a two storey house and the increasing difficulty of climbing the stairs. We would definitely make more use of the rail connection to London if we did not have to negotiate the stairs when we return.

This would be long overdue as all passengers from Platforms 1&2 have only access by footbridge-my wife is partially disabled and cannot use the station for that reason. Work did start but was then stopped

Two knee replacements mean step free access at Amersham Station would be very welcome!

 A ramp would be better than a lift - it would be useful to many more people.  You could probably have steps down (under the lines) as well as a ramp.

Difficult for bikes to get over the bridge especially loaded down with panniers. Have to resort to getting off at Chalfont and Latimer

When my elderly cousin visits, I have to meet her and carry her luggage over the bridge as there is no-one at the station to do it. I am 74 and have arthritis in both shoulders. A lift is urgently needed. I wish you success with your petiton.

Difficulty getting my granddaughter and buggy up and down the steps.
