Also something should be done about pedestrian access over the bridge. With 2 kids, and 1 in a pushchair, the quick dash over the bridge I inbetween traffic lights changing is a joke.

Or just dont go that way if your that botherd, that bridge was never desighned for pedestrians so it should not be used by them.

These verges are especially dangerous in the winter, when the majority of the football season is. After games is dark and winter weather such as rain makes these verges slippy and it is just asking for a bad accident to happen.

would this not force even more cars to park further back along awsworth road,redland close and ebenezer street,where the amount of residents already struggle to exit their driveways safely due to the amount of inconsiderate and mostly illegally parked vehicles,its about time the club organized a park and ride.

With respect, folks, what the canal bridge was originally designed for, and whether pedestrian access across it is a problem or not, are totally irrelevant to this subject. This petition is solely talking about trying to get the south/west side of Awsworth Road properly paved between the canal bridge and the entrance to the Football Club's grounds.

Terry, creating a proper pavement between the bridge and the entrance to the Football Club's grounds wouldn't cause you any increase in parking as cars don't park on the area we're talking about anyway. It is extremely hazardous to people trying to walk across it though, especially in the wetter winter months.

anyone thought of building a footbridge at the side of the canal bridge. Had to push my wife over the canal bridge in a wheelchair to see the last match of the season, motorist would rather run folks over than let you cross safely.

I saw someone fall into the road once off that verge. Luckily there were no cars coming over the bridge so they only suffered embarrassment and muddy hands, but it could have been a lot worse. It would make a lot of sense to provide a flat, well-lit pavement for what is about, what, 400 metres?

Heaven forbid that the Council should divert some cash from tarting up Long Eaton though, but thats a different argument,,,,
