From Horse and Carriage to E-rickshaw - Nassau, Bahamas

I went to Nassau several times last year and was disgusted by the way these horses are treaded, this needs to stop right now

I despise cruelty to anyone including animals.

The roads carry much heavier traffic than they used to. The horses are hemmed in. Frustrated drivers cut in and out trying to get round them. The old-fashioned charm has gone from the rides. But there is still a need for people with mobility issues to get round Nassau and some kind of eco vehicle is a good idea.

So that the horses may get better attention

its cruel and outdated. the horses look so skinny and pull heavy loads. leave the horses alone. evil tossers

The ill treatment of animals, is punishable by law and should be carried out in full.

When I visited the Bahamas, I was sickened and heartbroken by the state of the horses and the fact that they are forced to pull around such weight in intense heat, humidity and sun.

I won't return to the Bahamas until these horses are freed and there are no more horse carriages in operation.

Animal cruelty/slavery is not romantic nor is it a tourist attraction!

the treatment of all animals all over the caribbean is horrible- and abusive- they barely feed or give them water much less vet care or appreciation - they are beaten and worked to death and drop dead right there- horrible people to animals-shame on them and on the tourists that see the shape of these poor things and still think its fun

I hate cruelty to animals

because I abhor all cruelty and abuse of animals used in mans greed for money.

Please God, grant these majestic beauties freedom soon! <3 Have mercy upon the innocent.

HORSES DO NOT BELONG IN LARGE CITIES WHERE THERE IS SO MUCH NOISE, AS THEY ARE SENSITIVE, SKITTISH ANIMALS. THEY SHOULD NOT BE AROUND SO MUCH TOXINS AND POLLUTION MADE BY THE AUTOMOBILES. THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WORK LONG HOURS, NOT BEING ABLE TO LAY DOWN AND SLEEP AS LONG AS THEY NEED TO, AND THEY DO NOT GET ENOUGH OF THE PROPER NUTRITIOUS FOOD AND WATER THAT THEY NEED. HORSES SUFFER JUST LIKE ANY OTHER SPECIES DOES. WE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO EXPLOIT ANIMALS FOR OUR OWN ENTERTAINMENT OR USE. THEY NEED TO WALK ON SOFT GRASS, NOT HARD CEMENT. THEY SHOULD NOT PULL HEAVY BURDENS THAT ARE EXHAUSTING TO THEM.

WE HAVE LONG BEEN AGAINST THE USE OF HORSE-DRAWN CARRIAGES IN LARGE CITIES. THIS IS ABUSIVE PRACTICE THAT SHOULD NO LONGER BE IN EXISTENCE. IT IS MISTREATMENT OF THE HORSES, WHO WORK LONG HOURS AND DO NOT GET THE PROPER REST AND CARE THAT THESE SENSITIVE ANIMALS NEED.

The idea of horse drawn carriage is not a time that has PAST. The implementation of rickshaws is a movement towards the future. A horse should not be mandated to navigate traffic clogged streets riddled with hostile drivers. It is a confusing a frightening environment for a horse to have to work in and dangerous.

These carriage horses work far too hard and do not belong on streets inhaling exhaust fumes from cars and getting freaked out by traffic. It is hard too inhumane.

Carriage horses are far too overworked and should not be subjected to exhaust fumes from cars or freaked out by traffic. The carriage horse industry is so inhumane and outdated.

Those Horses need love, so they need to be on a farm or have a home where persons have love for them.

Animals are NOT here for us to eat, ride, abuse, harm or neglect...ONLY to be loved and cared for. Stop this NOW!

Stop the abuse of the horses

Animals are not thing! They are BEINGS!

These magnificent horses deserve a better "LIFE" than by dying because they have been pulling tourist carriages non-stop for years and are treated miserably! Nothing humane about it and their compassion is sorely missing!!!

I love horses and they do not deserve this unconscionable behavior!
