From Horse and Carriage to E-rickshaw - Nassau, Bahamas

Horses suffer terribly as carriage horses. Hack horse carriage businesses are unable to provide for the basic welfare and safety of the horses. In this day and age, the inhumanity of urban horse-drawn carriages is indefensible. It is time to retire the horses to loving homes and sanctuaries. Replacing them with a green, electric, rechargable battery-driven e-rickshaw is a wonderful idea, enhancing tourism and providing jobs in an environmentally-friendly and cruelty-free enterprise, with an extremely low overhead, so that drivers can prosper.

I find it appalling that people abuse animals for profit.

I BELIEVE THAT HORSE CARRIAGES ARE ARCHAIC AND DANGEROUS FOR THE HORSES WHO ARE BREATHING EXHAUST FUMES AND SPOOKED BYTHE TRAFFIC NOISE LIKE HORNS AND SIRENS!

Please Lord let this work!!!...together we can!

It is so sad to see the horses living and working in these kind of conditions - it can not be good for tourism either. It is animal cruelty and it needs to stop.

This is LONG overdue!!

To stop abuse for the horses

This is totally wrong! Should be done away with a long time ago! Ignorance.

I don't want any more horses to suffer in what amounts to slave labor when there are are now safer cheaper alternatives for tourist rides and to keep the horses safe.

I feel bad for the overworked horses

We need to stop any importation of additional horses, so we can see this end!

I see these poor horses every time I drive through downtown. And I know for a fact that Bahamians do not care about animals (most).

It's the right thing to do

The poor horses should have been taken from the
road 30 or more years ago. It is complete torture
what they have to go through day in and day out
with the fumes from so many vehicles and the stress from noise and heavy heat all day

This in humane treatment needs to stop ASAP

It is time to change the things that don't work with the times and things that have changed!

Horses are not machines! They deserve respect and love.

To save the beautiful horses that's being abused for the good of a few men that evidently don't know what love is for the animals of the creator for our souls. This love is being exploited for personal gain.
Greedy men must be stopped.

I am beyond fed up, beyond words, to express our utter disgraceful attitude towards animals and horses in particular.

These animals need to be shown proper care not just used and abused.
