It is a shame that this family isnt being allowed to take care of a family member in a proper and legal way. Here in the US so many people complain of illegal immigrants and the cost of providing for them. This family is trying to take a family member and provide for them so she doesnt become a ward of the state and cost tax payers. This travesty should be stopped and the girl allowed to be with her Aunt and Uncle as soon as possible. 

She should be with het family!!!!

Emily should be with her family. I know that Emily was very close to her mum and now that she can't be with her mum she needs the support of other family members. Nothing should stop them from trying to help her.

Emily is a lovely girl and never deserved to lose her mum nobody dose and the only way to get her over to America is if people to sign so please sign it. xxxx :)

pretty nuts that someone proven to be a good match (family) cannot adopt their own.

I am a cousin of one of Emily's best friends, who lives in the UK. It was her who gave me the link to this petition. I am on a number of groups at school, including the student council, Amnesty International Youth Group etc. I will get EVERYONE on these clubs to sign this petition as I think it is for a really good cause. There are loads of people supporting you and I hope you get the result you hope for. Keep it up!

I posted the comment about being on all the different clubs and getting everyone to sign it. I have sent an email to everyone on my contact list who hasn't already signed the petition. I think that's it's wrong to put a young girls life on hold any further she is at of an age where she knows who she wants to be with and If her grandparents are old and frail it's obvious then she will loose them and after loosing her mother at such a young age why shud she be put threw any more heart ache which she will be heartbroken if she lost her grandparents but she cud just end up in the same boat living in limbo with no sturdy safe environment feeling abandoned and neglected
