Why would the great government of Russia be so insecure and afraid of an old book from India? They should have noticed from the iron curtain days that Russian people really like to get hold of banned books.
May be the court and prosecutors were ill-informed about Bhagavad Gita. Bhagavad Gita is a very important book on Yoga, which is nothing but the science of attaining spiritual peace by looking inwards and uniting oneself with the Universe. Hence it is far from being an extremist ideology. I wish the good sense prevails and the message of Gita is born in every ones heart... Let us not use this situation to use bad words against those who are prosecuting, let us not forget they too are human beings and good sense prevails in them.

Bhagavadgita is universal Knowledge and it does not mention about any religion and it preaches only the way of life, the tenets and the dictum for a righteous living. If somebody tries to define Bhagavadgita as something related to only The Hindu way of Thinking then they are grossly mistaken. Any mistaken explanation has to the refused by any court in the world,bacause the eye of justice has to see only the TRUTH.

It would definitely be a shame.
Its like telling a Billion People and more, since 5000 yrs that you are all wrong, when it can be practically seen that what Srimad Bhagavad Gita has done (to bring about peace and harmony) can't be done even by all the governments united togather.
It never conflicts with secular values and only fools would think it would create 'social discord'.
Hope proper sense would prevail upon the Tomsk state prosecutor's office.
