Make sheppey bridge safe to cross

Sheppy bridge. Need to close down and they need to re think on safety on driving part and save to let us cross by foot. Something needs to be done ASAP, before we loose more to the damned bridge x

Such a tragic loss of life. However, lets get this straight. There is nothing wrong with the bridge. I drive over it every week day in my lorry, and never once has the bridge tried to make me crash. It's never swayed from side to side, or jumped up and down. That leaves the people that use it. There are calls for the bridge to have lights installed. Maybe, but you do have headlights on your car, and this accident was in daylight. A speed restriction maybe. Well to the person moaning about lorries, I would be going over the bridge at the same speed as I do now, 50! Warning signs. Not a bad idea. Although, by the time they are activated, it's usually too late. And referring back to the big pile up in the fog, if you need a sign to tell you it's foggy, then maybe you shouldn't be driving!! A hard shoulder? Unless you reduce the road to a single lane, this is impossible! I have a couple of suggestions. Drive more carefully. Concentrate on what you are doing (for those that don't know, that's driving) Get off your bloody mobiles ( I followed a woman past the accident today, who was texting. apart from, strangely, when she went past the Police) Take those bloody ear phones out, and stop scanning through your ipad. So lets wait till we know the full facts of the accident before we condemn the Sheppey Crossing, which, after all, is just sitting there, being a bridge.

Put at least 3 cameras on each side of the bridge and reduce speed to at least 40 mph and put low level lighting on for night and fog driving

Please stop more lives being wasted. There needs to be matrix warning signs and a speed limit on this bridge.

Speed Cameras are a must, too many drivers speed over the bridge.

How many more accidents are going to happen before something is done?

This needs to happen before more people die. God rest the mum and child that lost their lives yesterday.

I do not drive, my husband does, and we often say that drivers do go to fast on the bridge. And we think speed cameras would help.

I have had a chalet in Leysdown for 26yrs. I feel the traffic go too fast over this bridge.

I watched this bridge built as I was working on sheppey at the time. Awful that it is so dangerous. I agree that speed cameras and warning signs need to go up .

My 5 year old daughter school Queenborough she got school trip with group in coach my fears is bridge coz many accident. I feel like I cannot let my daughter go on want her stay home :-( but government moan children's must go

please help save lives by making this safe

We need to address the safety issues of this Bridge as a matter of urgency. It is lethal. Before more deaths occur. There is a blind spot on the highest point both sides. No lighting no speed restrictions. It's a deathtrap

too many lives have been lost already, it needs something doing to it, either that or more police patrols around there and infact around sheppey.

I lived here on isle of Sheppey for many years I want it yo be safe to cross I still have friends there.

I had many happy years living here and still have friends there make bridge safe

The new bridge should never have been built! How many accidents need to happen before somebody improves it!

After the huge pile up in the fog, that should have been a warning!
