Make sheppey bridge safe to cross

I have lived on the island all my life and this new bridge is not safe people just go to fast .

It needs speed limit ,cameras and lay-bys to make it safe. It should have been done in the first place

Speed cameras will make things worse they are a danger to everyone. They make even the best drivers take there focus off of driving and watching speed and looking for cameras other than what's in frot of them
They are for cash for gouverment not safety. I agree with them outside schools only

My daughter and grandchildren live in Sheppey and have to cross the bridge regularly when going to the mainland and I don't want them getting killed on a dangerous bridge like this.

How many more deaths before something is done, i travel over the bridge everyday for work and cannot believe how fast some drive and overtake on the inside lane, bloody ridiculous

This bridge needs cameras on each side so they can record speed and time and a limit of sixty mph should be statutory

its dangerous , people go to fast, and no hard shoulder if someone breaks down.

Get this bridge safe

The Sheppy Bridge is safe, it is the idiots who should not be driving who make it unsafe. Camera and perhaps more police available, but the whole island needs that with people driving skills. Lots of fines need to be given as education does not seem to work.

Sad sad loss - just SLOW DOWN!

The speed limit needs to be reduced and speed cameras introduced to prevent any further tragedies on this dangerous bridge.

A beautiful lady and her beautiful son leaving two more beautiful sons-brothers motherless. A loving family shattered.....everything and anything needs to be done to get through to all the reckless drivers out there.

The bridge is not at fault - it's the people driving on it who are. I agree that an enforced speed limit may help to some degree - however if it's not strictly enforced then it will be meaningless. Only the other week I saw someone driving down the other side of the bridge with one arm out of the sun roof and the other on his mobile phone !! It's idiots like that who cause the issue - not the bridge.

Something needs to be done such a sad loss when all this could have been avoided after the car pile up last year. Hope they do something now but as always it takes a loss of two lives for them o do something. My thoughts are with the family.

I have 2daughters and various friends who use the bridge daily.
Please sort it out!

This bridge needs speed cameras to stop the idiots flying over it, and some lighting needs to be in place.

Two lives taken away by this , how many more before something is done.

 

R.i.p to the poor lady and her little boy who sadly got killed in a crash on sheppey bridge

Very sad tragic accident happend yesterday on sheppey bridge where 2 innocent lives where take ...and let 2 young boys without a mum ...R.I.P my thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family at this sad time...something needs to be done!! How many more people are going loose there lives on that bridge!!?
