Refurbish Ringwoods Regal

To bring back a building to life.

I used to love going to this cinema as a little girl in the 1960's and think it would be great for Ringwood to have its own space for the Arts once again.

I REMEMBER WEN THE CINEMA WAS A CINEMA AND ITS DILAPIDATION IS A DISGRACE

I enjoy live theatre and the performing arts and moved to Ringwood five years ago and was surprised at the lack of live arts in the market town. We visit Salisbury, Wimborne and Christchurch plus further afield.

We want to see this turned into a cinema or theatre which will benefit and complete the town.

Something needs to be done with this building. Either restore and use or knock down and make a link through to the furlong. Either option would bring footfall to the town and improve the town centre for all

Because I believe music is important to Ringwood, and so are architecturally beautiful buildings such as the Regal

I went to the cinema about 55 years ago with my cousin. Ringwood was a lovely market town. It has lost so much of its charm, now.

I would love to see this beautiful building restored to its former glory.

Because the Tivoli is successful in Wimborne and it would add more diversity / options to Ringwood

Because I saw my first film at the Tivoli Wimborne aged 7..It was Ring of Bright Water and I was devastated when it closed, but happy that local Methodist Church/Anglican church members clubbed together with other volunteers to reopen it!
Let's have a 'Ring of Bright Water' and re open the Ringwood one in similar fashion!
It would make money for itself and the town, as well as give the youngsters something to do!
But it would be for all ages to enjoy!

The time has come for buildings like this to be successfully restored for community use as already proved at Wimborne and Christchurch. But once it's gone, it's gone for good and the cost of building a new centre is likely to be prohibitive.

I lived in Ringwood until the age of 15 and remember going to that cinema with my father many times. I also went to see many musicals such as West Side Story, The White Horse inn and the Mikado there too. My father, Harold Hudson was a policeman in the town and also sang with the local amateur dramatic /music society. I think it closed around 1965, such a shame.

Because it would dramatically improve Ringwood and bring the Market Place to life.

A cinema/theatre space would greatly enhance the profile of the town, for residents and tourists alike. It would help to develop an area of the town which is in some need of renovation, and would improve footfall for other local businesses.

Because I use to go to cinema on a Saturday morning to watch the children's film that was showing, and I think the cinema back for todays children have the same experience.

I used to live in Ringwood and depriving the community of this heritage site is disgraceful.The Manipulative Council should hang it's head in shame.

I am very much in favour of reinstating the building.

Ringwood should have a cinema/theatre/entertainment venue.

I come from Ringwood and would love to see some of it"s history come alive. So much of Ringwood has changed/modernised. This building is a beautiful site and could draw so many to the town for its use.

We signed as we would like to see a multi-function facility in Ringwood for every one to visit. Hope this takes off.

Ringwood is the only town in this area that doesn't have its own Entertainment/Leisure Centre and the town is growing fast and desperately needs to save this wonderful building for all to enjoy.
