From one Viking to many others history needs to be remembered

History is beautiful and needsnto be treasured

No site should be shut down that provides and shows historical events, culture and living history. It teaches people about their past, history, Myths and Legends. This petition is a good thing as it shows the strength of feeling to the keeping of this site. And shows that people, who are interested about Viking culture and history, including re enactors from other countries are against this proposed closure of the site, because it seems to be one of pure greed and indifference by those in local government to their culture and history.

Places like this are great part of our history, we don't have to destroy, we must preserve.

I signed this petition because the people need to know about the amazing history about vikings and how they lived. It's apart of something great! I'd hate to see it taken down.

I come from the bloodline of Duke Henry Sinclair of Scotland, Jarl of the Orkney islands, he was the son of the king of Norways daughter. I hope you get what you need to save that and many other great pieces of history. Good luck and I look forward to an ale with you one day.

Such a fascinating place...how sad if such a unique place closed

this site is important on a global level....many of us share an ancestry here - it has to be valued and appreciated as a site that is of historical importance - i would visit if I could!!

My family comes from Rostock, and we decend from Vikings. Keep the memory and traditions alive of our ancestors, there is nothing more important then knowing from where and whom you've come

As many of our ancestors can be traced back to this area, please take a moment and help if so inclined. History cannot be "remade" and I firmly believe we should save what we have!

It is sad that we value treasures like this, but governments are only concerned about the money. Think of what the world would be like if we did most things from a love of beauty, kindness and our fellow people on earth.....

Preservation of our old ways and histories are very important and should be reintroduced and kept, unscathed by other influences, for all times!!!

This heritage should be sacred anyways and protected in any way possible!

Too much of our historical cultural is being erased in the name of progress. I'm the co-creator and director of an historical paranormal t.v show in production and I see it all the time. I strongly believe that having a good grasp on where you came from and the lives involved gives us a good road map to our future.
