We need this airport , it is so important for cork and county ! Please do not close the airport as loads of people will loose their jobs, the hotels near will close also B&B's . 37 years ago I came here and landed in Cork ! I fell in love with Ireland ! Cork Airport was the connection to my family and friends !

Cork needs an airport with plenty routes cork is the prefect gateway to the south west
Guest#128 Mar 18, 2015, 23:09
Because I believe in the future of Cork Airport
Guest#129 Mar 18, 2015, 23:19
Closing the airport would kill the economic growth in the region. I don't think corporations like Apple , EMC or VMWare would appreciate to loose the links to London, Paris and Amsterdam !

Cork airport holds many bitter sweet memories for me since leaving Ireland in the 70s, so many hello's and goodbyes during the last 40 years via Cork airport.....would be very sad to see it close....It would be the end of an era not to mention severely restricting customer choice when planning journeys.Long live Cork airport!....and thank you for the memories

I have used Cork airport since I left Ireland to live in the Netherlands 17yrs ago.My parents live in Youghal Co. Cork. I would be devastated if it was gone. Was always proud that I could arrive home in my own county . PLEASE SAVE IT.

Local business people need a local airport. Our family uses Cork Airport a lot, don't want to add the nightmare of trekking to Dublin.
Guest#137 Mar 19, 2015, 09:35
It is an essential link to the rest of Europe. I use the airport for business purposes as well as leisure. A lot of the routes that I have used in the past are now unavailable off season.

It takes just over an hour to travel from Newcastle to Cork. Going via Dublin airport would take most of a day. For tourism alone it is more attractive and a lot less hassle. Business people too want to get from A to B more efficiently.

Cork needs to keep its airport!!!
Guest#140 Mar 19, 2015, 11:22
How can there not be an International Airport serving the entire Southern portion of the Republic?
Guest#141 Mar 19, 2015, 14:36
Cork airport is crucial as a link for business and pleasure. Losing routes will mean alot of business will bypass Cork and alot of jobs will be lost in all industries.
Guest#142 Mar 19, 2015, 15:01
Because it is essential to keep Cork Airport open - as the second largest city in Ireland.
I feel that the Airport should be independent of Dublin and the debt written off to enable Cork to independently market itself as a destination airport.

My family live in Clonakilty

We need an airport in this part of Ireland - it serves the whole south and southwest of the country. It is vital.
Guest#146 Mar 20, 2015, 00:11
Because we need Cork Airport to remain open and viable. It is a huge part of the county and provides much needed employment in these depressed times. Why can't Cork get the same support as Dublin and Shannon airports?
Guest#147 Mar 20, 2015, 00:46
We have an enormous amount of business people who use Cork airport. Do not cut us out of the loop we are vital to this economy.

I'm originally from Cork and would love nothing more to land into Cork & not Dublin when I go home on visits! It as fabulous facility and would be a shame to see it lost!
