I started riding over 40 years ago at Newmarket stables and still ride and own horses today they are a Durban Heritage. Every child should be able to see and touch a horse why when we have the facility do we want to destroy it. Most cities around the world are proud to have stables and horses in the inner boundries why not embrace and showcase instead of destroying

Rode at the yard throughout my high school years in the 80s. A haven in the middle of the city, a green space in the concrete jungle, and home to so many dreams and memories.

1 months notice is questionable however the beauty of those horses that is captured by our tourists when visiting Durban would be forever lost and there is so much more to lose by what they are doing to the stables

Because it is a heritage site.
Because there are a lot of people who will have to give up riding as they can't get out of town.
Because they must honour their 100 year lease.

I learnt to ride at Newmarket Stables when I was 9 years old.  Stabled my horse there in my teens and rode in many shows as an adult...

My daughter, Nicole has been riding at Newmarket for 18 months and it has given hypersonic confidence and joy to be amongst these lovely ponies. It is also sad that greed has overcome our society and that it is seemingly this easy to take another's living away from them.

Why must stables be demolished and horse P.T.S. for a soccer academy. There must be other options which can be used for the academy. this must NOT HAPPEN

This is part of Durban that should not be destroyed. The proposed use of the area is totally unnecessary as there is sufficient space at Moses Mabida precinct to build what they want and it will be in the correct area.

I grew up going to the Stables, whether it was learning to ride, visiting friends or just wanting to see the horses and Ofcourse, the Market was visited pretty much every week.

We don't need another USELESS soccer academy to pump out more useless tax guzzlers like BAFANA BAFANA! THE CURRENT STADIUM IS SITTING UNUSED. Make use of something that already exists!

Because my grand daughter rides at New Market Stables and we so enjoy watching her. It has a history and should remain part of the Inner City of Durban.

My family lived in Lambert Road from the late 1800's and New Market Stables have always been part of Morningside. It will be very sad to close thm, not only becuse of the Sunday Markets but also for the many people who enjoy being able to learn to ride and not have to travel great distances out of Durban to enjoy the equestrien life.
