Being a mum of 3 with no car and my only transport is a bus the Bredbury office is a huge asset to our community!
Guest#102 Aug 22, 2016, 12:21
This would be a massive inconvenience & a step backwards !!!! Not to mention 2 hrs out of my day & yet more congestion to the A6 !!! What next ????
Guest#103 Aug 22, 2016, 13:14
Because Bredbury sorting office is a must for working people who cant always be in to receive their post
Guest#104 Aug 22, 2016, 13:46
It's my local office
Guest#105 Aug 22, 2016, 14:18
It is hard enough to collect a parcel at the moment let alone having to go into Stockport!
Guest#106 Aug 22, 2016, 14:19
Because I don't want it to be closed!
Guest#107 Aug 22, 2016, 15:47
I don't want this office to close, my son in Norway quite often sends parcels over, and if I'm not in they go to the sorting office in Bredbury which is near enough for me to collect from. I'm a pensioner and don't want to have to go further afield to pick up.

The Post Office is a vital centre for us, especially the elderly.
Guest#109 Aug 22, 2016, 17:56
The sorting office in Bredbury is where any parcels are left for us when we are out. We no longer have a local post office , now this closure s threatened.
Guest#110 Aug 22, 2016, 19:39
Because there's no other sorting office locally and a car is necessary if you need to go to the office (near to the pyramid) in Stockport
Guest#111 Aug 22, 2016, 20:39
Stockport is too far a distance just to pick up a parcel or letter, especially for people who don't drive or have a car
Guest#112 Aug 22, 2016, 21:39
I work full time and I often miss deliveries and I know for sure my parcels are safely held at this local office!!
Guest#113 Aug 23, 2016, 07:21
I live in Woodley and this is our local office, the proposed change to the other office is not convenient and those with no access to their own transport will struggle badly
Guest#114 Aug 23, 2016, 07:45
Essential for old age pensioners.
Guest#115 Aug 23, 2016, 10:32
Marple sorting office at chapel fields .is used by thousands of people in the marple area .many people have to work with no one available to sign or receive mail when the parcel is to large to post through the letterbox .the sorting office is open from 7.30 through to lunchtime 12 pm each day .every day there is a constant stream of local people collecting mail from this chapel fields sorting office .if this is lost to local people it will be a very retrograde step for post office deliveries .stockport is too far away and is time consuming to collect parcels and signed for letters .this closure must not happen .

To access to postal services for the elderly
Guest#117 Aug 23, 2016, 18:52
Bredbury post office is so handy for me and my family. Alot of elderly people who live in Bredbury use this post office alot and will find it very difficult to get to stockport to collect a parcel. Please think of people who find it difficult to travel.
Guest#118 Aug 24, 2016, 04:35
A vital local service provided in an efficient and cheerful manner by good staff.
Guest#119 Aug 24, 2016, 10:13
A local sorting office is important to allow people without a car to collect parcels
Guest#120 Aug 24, 2016, 18:23
If our local office closes it will be extremely difficult for people without transport to collect packages. No thought has been given to needs of residents of Marple Bredbury and Romiley.
Guest#121 Aug 24, 2016, 20:02
Because it is an important cause. We need local mail services
Guest#122 Aug 25, 2016, 09:04
I want important services to be maintained at a local level
Guest#123 Aug 26, 2016, 10:02
Everyone in Marple & Stockport is directly affected, elderly people particularly so, especially if they do not have their own transport or family to help them out.
Guest#124 Aug 26, 2016, 21:24
Because it's an important hub of our community. Closing it down would inconvenience too many people especially the elderly and those with no transportation. I never go into Stockport, no longer have reason too and find the parking fees extortionate, so to have to travel there would be a nightmare especially with the traffic. In Marple I can drop in on my way to work when the office first opens. This is an awful proposal and one where no forethought has been given. Surely the new houses on Hibbert Lane would increase the need for such a facility?

What dimwit decided that closing Marple was in the best interests of Royal Mail Customers?
