Just about every 'public' service in these areas are being closed down. Last couple of weeks it was two different banks and now it's two sorting offices.
Guest#27 Aug 17, 2016, 21:18
The post Office Depot is an essential local resource. Especially with the increase of online purchases and home deliveries
Guest#28 Aug 17, 2016, 21:23
We use Royal Mail a lot. Closing the local sorting office would cause my family great inconvenience when collecting parcels.
Guest#29 Aug 17, 2016, 21:27
I use the sorting office in bredbury on a weekly basis. It's a valuable office to the whole community and its loss will be felt across the village.
Guest#30 Aug 17, 2016, 21:34
Because the sorting office in Bredbury is very handy to pick things up from. Otherwise it means a 7 mile journey to Stockport and back.
Guest#31 Aug 17, 2016, 21:36
The Sorting Office in Bredbury would be a massive loss to many in the Woodley, Bredbury and Romiley areas. How on earth would the elderly/infirm be able to get to Stockport to collect a large parcel and then get it home. We don't all have transport or the money for taxis
Guest#32 Aug 17, 2016, 21:43
The services at local post depots are vital -for everyone. It is a shameful example of this government if they continue to take away a vital local service. Post men & women work hard on daily basis, even walking for long hours in all weathers to bring our mail. To be able to go to your local depot to collect a missed parcel is great but to have to travel a number of miles is just not acceptable. What if you don't have transport?? Keep our depots & our posties local to all our communities, after all I thought it was at Her Majesty's Service. Doubt she would want this British institution having no back bone to serve our public!
Guest#33 Aug 17, 2016, 22:12
Its an important local facility that would cause great inconvenience if centralised to Stockport as well as being environmentally irresponsible.
Guest#34 Aug 17, 2016, 22:24
A valued service for local residence.
Guest#35 Aug 17, 2016, 23:49
Our Royal Mail Delivery Office is very useful, therefore precious to us. If we had to go to the Delivery Office in Hyde, there would be a real problem with parking and we would lose a very important local service. It's interesting to see the Conservatives trying to stop an institution that they privatised from acting as independently, selfishly and inconsiderately as a privatised business always does. What on earth did they expect??
Guest#36 Aug 18, 2016, 05:06
Signed to stop the erosion of local services vital to efficient business operations.
Guest#37 Aug 18, 2016, 05:35
Delivery and collection locally is important to all and especially so to those without personal transport
Guest#38 Aug 18, 2016, 06:05
Want Bredbury Depot to stay open
Guest#39 Aug 18, 2016, 06:35
Getting to Stockport can be a nightmare especially rush hour and Christmas. I'd be very unhappy should this service be withdrawn.
Guest#40 Aug 18, 2016, 07:35
If The Sorting Offices close. The least the post office could do is have somewhere locally to collect parcels. It is always busy o0n the road when I pass the Bredbury Sorting office.
Guest#41 Aug 18, 2016, 07:49
To help maintain and improve the excellent service that the Royal Mail provides to the local communities.
Guest#42 Aug 18, 2016, 07:59
It would be difficult for the many elderly residents of Breebury and Woodley to collect parcels etc. at another location.
Guest#43 Aug 18, 2016, 08:19
These services are vital to our local communities
Guest#44 Aug 18, 2016, 08:56
I am an ex Romiley resident and you are not giving any one a considered service , either close one or the other .Not both.
Many people have no direct way of getting into stockport which is where I assume is where the collection point will be.
Guest#45 Aug 18, 2016, 08:59
Local services are very important especially for the young and old with banks closing the PO is even more essential.
Guest#46 Aug 18, 2016, 11:04
We need our local facilities and people's jobs . Keep them open , they are used daily .
Guest#47 Aug 18, 2016, 11:45
As a director of a thriving local business, closing the delivery office would have a severely detrimental impact on my business. Shocking proposal.
Guest#48 Aug 18, 2016, 11:51
Because it provides an important local service for business and non-business customers.
Guest#49 Aug 18, 2016, 11:52
Because I am 78 years old and it is bad enough having to get up to Marple to collect packages etc., but having to go to Stockport would be really really difficult.
Guest#50 Aug 18, 2016, 11:54
Because it is important to keep busy (and I mean busy) local depots open, no doubt they want to sell the land for profit.
