What a waste of time and effort to shut this resturant down.....is this a simple case of racisim??
Guest#302 Oct 21, 2013, 08:16
Stand up to racist, fascist bullies!
Guest#303 Oct 21, 2013, 08:34
at least this building is well kept and maintained, some pen pusher's powers have gone to their head!
Guest#304 Oct 21, 2013, 08:39
Best of luck in your fight...think it brightens up the street and look forward to eating there in a couple of weeks!

This restaurant is not only a great place for food and lovely service, but it's also a good looking place! it's clean, it's well designed and looks fresh. How someone could feel it is an eyesore is beyond me. There's far worse "eyesores" to look at in the area.
Guest#306 Oct 21, 2013, 20:34
It makes me sad that there even needs to be a petition for this! Has the world gone crazy?
Guest#307 Oct 22, 2013, 08:34
The restaurant provides some exquisite food and should not have to tolerate such behaviour
Guest#308 Oct 22, 2013, 11:35
If people like these losers would use their time and energy for positive and worthwhile causes rather than causing animosity within a community, they would probably be a lot happier in their sad lives. Good luck Pomegranate.

Good luck!

Much as I would like to see the original buildings restored ( see Wiliam Street in the West end) this is half a century too late.... All the businesses in this part of town have signage, lighting, Menu boards - nothing new there, and all fairly tastefully done. Use commonsense Council !
Guest#311 Oct 23, 2013, 06:38
Unfair
Guest#312 Oct 23, 2013, 10:13
Ridiculous notion from Edinburgh planning dept. again.... Best of luck, your restaurant hardly looks offensive! In fact it looks most welcoming, and embraces Edinburgh's cosmopolitan nature. Good luck!

Have not had the pleasure of dining here yet,but will do soon. Get this racist neighbour, and council sorted out and do somethin serious with your time. Disgracefull !
Guest#314 Oct 24, 2013, 09:23
I hope you continue with your restaurant <3
Guest#315 Oct 24, 2013, 20:18
I have never been here but it is clear the restaurant is being unfairly treated.. I shall make it my business to visit soon
Guest#316 Oct 25, 2013, 14:07
Pomegranate is a sophisticated restaurant that is a wonderful addition to the local community.
Guest#317 Oct 25, 2013, 14:35
Having walked down this street many times, I am amazed the Council is behind this ridiculous action: the lighting and signage at Pomegranate is no more controversial than on other listed buildings in the area (in fact, I'd say less so...).
Guest#318 Oct 25, 2013, 15:51
I think the person complaining needs to open their eyes and see the real issues on their doorstep rather than taking issue with a sign and menu boards that are in my opinion very nice to look at compared to some of the not so desirable sights in Edinburgh, GOOD LUCK!!
Guest#319 Oct 25, 2013, 16:30
This is a great little restaurant and I cannot understand why anyone would have an objection to it.
Guest#320 Oct 25, 2013, 17:33
I live in a listed building half way down Leith Walk, and am keen to conserve the area. I see far more intrusive and out of place buildings than this one. Please allow the business to survive, we don't need any more empty premises
Guest#321 Oct 25, 2013, 18:34
Such a shame that this business is being picked on for what seems to be an absolutely pathetic reason,I hope they can keep the signage,it's lovely &colourful:-):-)
Guest#322 Oct 25, 2013, 20:45
This is a great place with good food andnexcellent staff I have nomproblem with it's sin age as a citizen of Edinburgh and fullynsupportbthe owners. I have no commercial interest inn the establishment
Guest#323 Oct 25, 2013, 21:31
This is a really excellent restaurant. It should be allowed to continue trading freely.
Guest#324 Oct 26, 2013, 08:49
Shame on the council
Guest#325 Oct 26, 2013, 09:55
Racisim in any form has no place in todays society. Shame on Edinburgh City Council. Good luck with your petition
