Save the Historic Terrace Theatre

I want to see the Terrace Theater used as a theater again - either for movies or plays. It is too beautiful to be wasted.

My husband worked as an usher there in the late 1950s, when it was a State of the Art theater.

Cause i have alot of good memorys of it and we already lost enough with all the tearing down or closings robbinsdale sr high , country club market ,chalet

I grew up in Robbinsdale and was 11 years old when this theatre was built. I am now 75. The architecture is magnificent, a true work of art. I recall the copper fountains artistically placed on a wall in the lobby, and the little room where parents could sit and watch the movie with their babies or toddlers while not disturbing the other theatre goers.

I have lived all over this country and have never seen a theatre even close to matching the intrinsic beauty of the Terrace.

Whenever I would drive by, I wondered why this masterpiece was being allowed to just sit there. I'm grateful to those who started this Save The Historic Terrace Theatre petition. Thank you!

I grew up a few blocks from the Terrace in the 70's and 80's. We walked or rode bikes to more movies than I count. Most people don't understand just how unique that place was. I wish it could be restored to what it once was.

I used to go there with my brothers and sisters and our friends from the neighborhood. Many enjoyable Saturday and Sundays. Other kids should be able to have that .

As a kid growing up in Richfield, the Terrace greeted us on our return from vacations in northern Minnesota, and as a young adult living in Golden Valley I got to go there to see movies. It was a beautiful theatre and community asset.  So many other iconic (to me) movie theatres have been lost..The Richfield Theatre where I spent many Saturday afternoons, the Cooper, the Mann Southtown and the Hopkins (which at least was replaced with another community theatre).  I was thrilled to have one in my new 'backyard'.  I would hate to see it gone from that corner.  Downtown Robbinsdale and the Terrace could be part of a transportation, retail and housing renaissance on the near north side.

My family has lived in Robbinsdale since 1998 and the Terrace closed shortly after, I'd love to see a movie there .

Went to this theater during its twilight years back in the 80's.  Would love to see it re-open...but who's going to pay for it?  The theater market is pretty saturated and there are already several other restored/continuing old stand-alone theaters.

This trying to get it re-opened has been going on for years now.  Either get it restored and operating or tear it down and put the land to better use. Something other than leaving an old run-down eyesore of a theater and grocery store there. 

I hope it gets restored and re-opened though

I grew up near the theatre and went to see movies there often. At the time I thought all theaters were like this one. Now I know it was something very unique.

Attended many movies there from opening to closing. Building is historically significant and deserves to be saved. Is STILL an interesting looking structure. Like the Metropolitan Bldg--once it's gone--it's GONE !

This is a large part of Robbinsdale History that needs to be preserved. it would be an added local highlight in keeping with other locations in our community that can attract and maintain the 'Robbinsdale Spirit' that is so great!

I remember a lot of enjoyable Saturday afternoon matinees at the Terrace theater. It would be a shame to let this landmark be torn down!

The Terrace is a beautiful architectural representation of its time--it's a work of art and should be preserved for future generations to enjoy much like we did in the day.

I have lived in the area for about 30 years and would hate for such an awesome, historic icon of Robbinsdale to be torn down. I was so sad to see how the inside has been virtually destroyed over the years!! We have such fond memories of this theater; please help keep it standing and restored!

The Terrace is a gorgeous example of mid-20th century movie palace architecture, most of which have perished already. It's beautiful twin. The Nile, was demolished almost 20 years ago. Too many wonderful buildings of historic cultural significance in Minneapolis have met the wrecking ball. Don't trash the past.

That theater has more character than the 'multi' theaters and a unique style that no others have. It is uniquely beautiful and should be classified as historical!

Loved the space growing up as youngster and teen! Beauty close to home and a real modern sophisticated theater. Practical with a the family room and ever so enchanting wide landscapes inside and out! A gem!

As I previously stated, This is a unique historic landmark and should not be thrown away for a lesser quality structure!

I loved going to the Terrace for years & years. Nothing was more fun. They had only 1 screen, but it was about 80 ft tall. The balconies were wonderful. It had 2 party rooms at the back of the balconies. So they could have birthday parties, but no one had to hear the noise. The party could still watch the movie.  Way ahead of it's time.
