it isn't for you to decide if a mosque is needed. this petition is against the placement. If they want to build a mosque anywhere else then they can. As it is this isn't a mosque it's a community centre which they are within their rights to place there. No more traffic to a community centre than to the pub so shouldnt add to traffic much.

I don't want the planning application to go through. It will only bring trouble to Stalybridge.

This centre will cause problems.

Its a Mosque and as a resident of Stalybrige I don't want it.

They should of consulted the residents of Stalybridge first. Ashton under Lyne is 1 bus ride away and they have MORE than enough mosques . And they wonder why british people are not patriotic anymore.

it clearly says in the application it is a education and community centre?

Guest#233 Oct 24, 2013, 16:50
I think there is enought " community centers" in the area and the tax payers money can be better spent regenerating the local area

Read the info put out by the individuals wanting it built, they CLEARLY say it will have provisions for praying 5 times a dat, if it walks like a duk, quacks like a duck, etc ITS A MOSQUE!

Have you never heard of Taqiyya?

Look it up

Guest#235 Oct 24, 2013, 17:28
I believe in live and let live but can I do that in Iran.
Guest#236 Oct 24, 2013, 17:30
Stalybridge hardly has any Muslims so why spend money on building a mosque when it's not needed, that road at tea time and school time is already a nightmare so why build something like that to make it worse? Stalybridge is a lovely little town but if this mosque goes ahead Will no longer be what it used to be!
Guest#237 Oct 24, 2013, 17:31
I think it is a good thing this petition because then everyone who has a Facebook account can have a public say and as a very large percentage of people use this kind of communication using this media the petition is more likely to show a truer sense of how people truly feel.
Guest#238 Oct 24, 2013, 18:15
A mosque isn't just a building where people go to pray. FYI lots of work places have pprayer rooms, does that make them mosques? No!
Guest#239 Oct 24, 2013, 18:20
This is a bad move by the council as it will create a lot of traffic problems.
Within in the area it is quoted. it is already heavy and with a junior school near by it will put children more at risk than ever.
Guest#240 Oct 24, 2013, 18:25
Child goes to school on this road and the traffic is already grid locked in the morning and afternoon
Guest#241 Oct 24, 2013, 18:28
The traffic on this road is incredibly busy in the morning. It's total grid lock. This is becoming increasingly unfair on local residents.
Guest#242 Oct 24, 2013, 18:45
Traffic is extremely heavy.
Guest#243 Oct 24, 2013, 18:55

Just looked it up...rather worrying really.

Muslim scholars teach that Muslims should generally be truthful to each
other, unless the purpose of lying is to "smooth over differences."

There are two forms of lying to non-believers that are permitted under
certain circumstances, taqiyya and kitman.  These circumstances
are typically those that advance the cause Islam - in some cases by gaining the
trust of non-believers in order to draw out their vulnerability and defeat
them.

208 do not call me uneducated when you can't spell INTEGRATION correctly.  But, you are right, I have not been that interested in politics in the past but am becoming more politically motivated as I see this country deteriorating so quickly and am looking forward to becoming at least politically  educated.  I have enjoyed reading the comments of the widespread  community and think it is great the way it has residents of Tameside talking.  I do find it strange how this "Community Centre" may get the go ahead but on Page 16 of this weeks Advertiser the council cannot afford to keep Gorse Hall Community Centre open, so perhaps the money being afforded for the Mosque could be given to an existing Community Centre used by the elderly local residents - that would really help racial integration.

#249: - Re: Re:

I think youwill find that the money will come from muslim buisinesses outside of the town, such as Longsight, Oldham, Ashton. If you notice on the website, "Understanding islam UK" there is already a doner of £50.000.

Not long before they get the rest.
