NSFAS FUND UNISA STUDENTS FAIRLY

This is an online petition created by UNISA students who feel unfairly treated by the organization that is NSFAS.

 

Thousands of students applied to NSFAS in 2015 for funding in 2016 but NSFAS has not dealt with applications efficiently.

 

* Many UNISA students have not been notified of their application statuses and they are currently unaware whether NSFAS is still going to fund them or not in the 2016 academic year.

 

* Those who were notified that their applications were successful and that NSFAS will fund them for 2016 also find themselves in a very unfavourable position as they have not received their sBux vouchers which caters primarily on textbooks used during their studies. 

 

This petition aims to plead with NSFAS to speedy up its process of funding because we as students of UNISA have already lost about two full months of study time. 

Thousands of UNISA students are still in the dark regarding their applications while those who were informed that their applications for funding in 2016 were successful are still devastated since they cannot buy prescribed textbooks because sBux vouchers have not been allocated for them to buy such prescribed textbooks.

 

National Students Financial Aid Scheme is an organization which aims on helping impoverished students who cannot afford to pay intuition fees but why is it that this organization is the one that is failing to assist students?

 

The poor service that UNISA students are getting from NSFAS whenever they make telephonic contact to the organization seeking for clarity regarding this new and unfair system of funding is going to result in major violent protests across the country because no student deserves such poor and unfair treatment. We plead that NSFAS should work around the clock if needs be to rectify this current adverse situation because if they don't resolve this problem sooner, there is no telling what these angry thousands of students can do. 

 

NSFAS please do what is right and nothing will go wrong. By April all deserving UNISA students should have receive their adequate funding because in May, examinations will resume and already so much time has been lost.
