Reduce chargers

I am hoping you can help me, last year on the 9th November 2024 my son jady died in a car accident. They have charged his best mate Russell Comrie with dangerous driving causing death!!! 
I am hoping to get these chargers reduced as Russell's car didn't even touch my sons car. 
my whole life has been torn apart I don't want his life destroyed anymore than what it had already, he seen and watched my son die. To me that is enough punishment..
