I believe local democracy should be as close to the people as possible. If we end up scrapping a tier of local government power will be even more remote from people than it is now.(Carlisle, 2020-08-16)

I am proud to live in what we still describe as a ‘Stanwix Village’ and think it is important to retain a sense of pride in where we live, by maintaining and investing in our infrastructure and local community.(Carlisle, 2020-08-22)

The Carlisle Waverley Viaduct should reopen as a traffic free crossing of The River Eden especially as Eden Bridges were closed due to flooding and the M6 and Norther Development Route could not cope with the extra traffic. Linking up Rockcliffe, Cargo and Stainton with the Hospital CIC, University, City shops and amenities. Linking up LDP's: Miller's Way 1 & 2, Hadrian's Wall Path, England Coast Path and The Cumbria Way. Also linking up all local footpaths to walkers, pedestrians, visitors, tourists, parents with push chairs, dog walkers, fishermen/woman, joggers and anyone else wanting to get fit and enjoy the fresh air and countryside views, thereby enhancing their physical, mental and spiritual well being contributing to the Cities proposal and endeavour to achieve healthy City status.(Carlisle, 2020-08-22)

Stanwix is a disgrace in some parts. The local council do not seem interested in it. A village council will help make the area look much more appealing.(Carlisle, 2020-08-23)

From hardwick circus roundabout up to Stanwix, the road is used as a race track. I’m guessing here but the speed of cars must be over 50 mph. It’s really dangerous. People walk sometimes 3 abreast on the pavement whilst theses idiots speed along the inside lanes, sometimes turn down Etterby street or through the lights at a ridiculous speed with absolutely no concern for other people.
Why there isn’t any speed restrictions of any kind, anywhere along Stanwix bank and Scotland road is beyond belief.

I believe The local Stanwix council could be very good for our area.(Carlisle, 2020-08-27)

Because traditionally Stanwix has always been considered a village and it seems unfair and discriminatory not to create a village council for Stanwix to allow residents there the same benefits as those experienced in other similar local areas. In addition the geographic area and residents within it can only benefit.(Carlisle, 2020-09-02)
#134
I think it is a good idea(Carlisle, 2020-09-03)

I believe in devolution(Brampton, 2020-09-13)
#141
I hope that it will bring the Stanwix residents closer together and instill a degree of civic pride. Perhaps it will discourage people littering our streets and verges which seems to be an increasing problem. Also people may start to consider others when they park their cars illegally, or is that expecting too much. I think it is worth a try and can only be good for the area.(Carlisle, 2020-09-14)

The current “nightmare” parking situation outside my home.I’d like to see residents parking scheme introduced.

Like to see projects to improve neighbourhood for residents. Better infrastructure for walking, cycling, improvements for parking and motorists. Like to see common sense use of spaces and safety improvements.Improvements for biodiversity .
Help businesses to prosper.

It's only correct that with the Cumbria Councilsrestructure that we address the status of Stanwix
within. Having a voice will only benefit our community as we face these changing times.
