Worse part is that age restriction when government advertised jobs its really kills us that as graduates we do not qualify because of our age. I am signing this petition because I have been unemployed as a teacher for more than 5 years and now even lost hope because post at school are not advertised transparently. If they do advertise deep inside they already know and picked their applicant privately so they at times they advertise just to follow a protocol. In KZN every thing is hidden no bulletin for post level 1and no advertisement for post level 1 they claim to recruit educators by an App. And what worse about me I can't even be hired as an assistant teacher because of my agesm never knew being old is a curse to our ruling government. I have a right to support and work for my kids and tell them about how fruitful to be educated because you can buy a home, car, right food, medication and pay tax to help the needy.

Been unemployed for more than 2 years ,the KZN DOE seems to prioritize EAs forgetting that there are qualified educators sitting at home. Every single year we are told there is no budget when they are allocated a budget every financial year. Lastly Funza bursary holders are given preference over everyone else, which is discriminatory since we all study the same thing. Oh and the age restriction that is being imposed is totally unfair because some graduates have been sitting at home from their twenties.

I believe that the department of education should hire unemployed and qualified teachees as Education Assistants because they are so many of them. And the fact that the department is hiring anyone is just an insult to us Educators. And this shows how our government undermines our proffession .We've talked about this issue enough but our MEC ignores our cry. However, we are still saying that this programme of Educator Assistants should be looked into and do things accordingly because we do not understand how someone who doesn't know anything about education can assist within the department. The other department such as health depertment faced hardships during Covid19 strife but there were no assistants but just because our government always wants to have a way of showing how useless teachers are, they had to have these EAs. We call for the government to show some respect to the department of education and employ qualified, unemployed educators. Thank you!

Government should change this law of age limit From 18-55, because in paliament there are people who are working but they are over 60 years
