Lincoln Road, Speed humps / Chicanes for all our safety, now and the future. Please help

The high speeds at which cars are driving on our 20mph road on Lincoln road, Parkstone, Poole, BH12  have become a significant concern for our community.

Despite the clearly posted speed limit, many drivers are exceeding it, creating a dangerous environment for pedestrians, cyclists, and other motorists.

This road is frequently used by families, children, and elderly residents, making it imperative to address this issue.

The excessive speeds not only increase the risk of accidents but also contribute to noise pollution and a general sense of unease among residents. It is crucial that we take measures to enforce the speed limit and ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in our neighbourhood.  

To enhance the safety of our neighbourhood, we propose the installation of Chicanes or speed hump on our 20mph road, which has become a popular rat run cut-through for drivers. Making it imperative to reduce vehicle speeds and discourage the cut through traffic.

The proposed  will effectively slow down vehicles, ensuring a safer environment for all road users and preserving the residential character of our community.

We believe this measure will significantly improve safety and quality of life for everyone in the area.  

While we have not had any human fatalities ( Thank goodness) family pets and wildlife have been killed on this road by speeding drivers. Why wait for a human fatality? We need to prevent this from happening as the speeds are getting faster, and we can only hope a fatality doesn’t occur.
