Swart Spruit Pollution

We the undersigned residents of the greater Kempton Park hereby petition the City Manager Dr Imogen Mashazi, to take urgent action on the constant putrid stench coming from the Swartspruit. This is seriously affecting the health of residents in Edleen and Van Riebeeck park. Urgent steps needs to be taken to locate and eradicate the source of the sewerage, Industrial chemicals and any other form of pollution contaminating the Swartspruit. Water quality test results must be made public Monthly. All necessary steps are to be taken to rehabilitate the Swartspruit in accordance to national legislative standards, including litter traps and water quality standards must be maintained at all times
