We, the undersigned residents and affected community members supplied by the Crown Gardens Reservoir, formally petition Johannesburg Water and the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality regarding the ongoing and repeated disruptions to our water supply.
Residents have been without water for several days, following another extended outage only weeks ago. These repeated interruptions are severely affecting households, hygiene, businesses and the basic dignity of our communities.
We therefore call for:
- Immediate restoration of water supply to all affected areas.
- Clear and transparent communication regarding outages and restoration times.
- Reliable emergency water tankers for affected communities.
- A sustainable solution to prevent recurring water outages from the Crown Gardens supply system.
If these concerns are not urgently addressed, residents will consider escalating the matter to relevant oversight bodies, the media and other appropriate authorities.
