In defense of Roman Uranjek's reputation

Thanks for signing and how the petition is developing
2023-01-22 16:25:52This is the first in a series of short general communications, which I will publish to keep you updated on the progress of this petition.
But first, let me thank you all for signing. It was important, for me and for those who are supporting me in this initiative, to have your response in a number that is quite higher than expected, considering that this is a petition restricted to only those who have known Roman Uranjek.
And even more significant and encouraging for us, because there is strong resistance to signing from many, especially from people who were very close to Roman. This has many explanations and we will talk about it in future communication.
In general, what is feared is that this petition could rekindle dormant controversies. We see no reason to fear this consequence, since the petition is of simple respect, equivalent to signing the special book that is displayed during a funeral. Nor, let it be clear and certain, it is not our intention to ignite controversy either now or in the future.
Also thanks to your intellectual and human honesty in giving due recognition to a person who deserved it, we will continue to insist and contact personally, one by one, as we have done so far with nearly four hundred people, who we believe have been in direct contact with Roman. We have calculated that it is more than four thousand people, so it will take months.
Anyone who has questions, observations, suggestions and, perhaps, offers of help or even criticism, please contact me at the address indicated in the petition: amurnik@ete.it. I will always respond to everyone and it will be my duty and pleasure to nurture dialogue, on the only condition that it is maintained at a level of mutual respect.
Thanks again, everyone. You are and will remain in our hearts.
Andrea Peter Murnik
