Cancel Summer Exams 2021! In the name of mental health.

We at the crisis cafe a mental health organisation and movement lead by young people for young people are calling on the Education minister Peter Weir to follow the actions of Wales and to cancel GCSE and A level exams for 2021. As we are in the middle of a global pandemic many students and teachers have missed days due to periods of self- isolation and  already we've  had a 2 week circuit breaker. We believe it would be unfair to ask students to sit these exams in the summer, we believe this would in many ways jeopardise the mental health and well being of young people. Young people are reporting increased levels of stress and anxiety directly relating to preparation for exams and exam outcomes. We believe it is in the best interest of all young people to have these exams cancelled.
