I have 7 cats and one dog. It is heartbreaking to see how frantic they become. Crackers has no benefits for anyone. It is no only the poor animals that suffer. It creates air and noise pollution and is a danger to children also.

Last nights show of fireworks in Nelspruit were a bloody disgrace! This new rule between 11 pm and 1 pm is to me giving with one hand taking with the other! It's not stopping anything! FIREWORKS MUST BE FULLY FULLY BANNED COUNTRYWIDE for Guy Fawkes, Dewani, New year...........whatever! Dewani is basically a show of lights......laser lights; so, be our guest, ANYTIME but to be fully responsible; no one can be trusted anymore!

Although heavy thunder and lightning may be loud, the decibels (pitch) are relatively low compared to the high decibels of fireworks. High decibels are experienced by certain animal types 80 times more intense than by a human.
Also, animals are generally far more in zync with nature. Because of the time lapse between the moment of lightning and the crack followed, they have time to prepare and take cover. And although they 'understand' nature, they will seek some protection, whereas the sound of fireworks confuses and bewilders them...hence they run blindly. They do not understand the threat or danger or know where it comes from. They are indeed traumatised beyond our understanding. The numerous reports of displaced/lost animals are significant proof of this fact.

Fireworks are a curse, not only to our furry babies but to humans as well. Too many people get injured from them. Back to our furry babies, they hear these loud bangs and they don't know what its all about. Our babies go missing, get knocked over, the get hurt all because humans are too damn selfish and self centred. #banfireworks!!!!
