We desperately need a speed restriction 30mph on Llantrisant Rd at the bottom of Rhydlafar Drive and a stop line on the junction of Crofft-y-Genau Rd/Llantrisant Rd for the safety of the residents at Parc Rhydlafar and motorist.
There has been numerous accidents on Llantrisant Rd in the past 14yrs since I have lived at Rhydlafar at least one a month time to put a stop to it.
I fully support this petition to improve the junction at Rhydlafar.

Many near misses witnessed personally on this stretch of road. More deaths are inevitable.

Accidents are all too frequent in the area of these two junctions and a speed limit of 40 miles per hour would seem commensurate with the volume of traffic and the close proximity of these junctions to each other.

This is an extremely dangerous stretch of road which needs some way of slowing down the traffic. Cyclists included!!

Buses are a nightmare for speed too.  Especially the ones coming down the hill towards Rhydlafar.  They pick up so much speed, they'd have no chance of stopping safely if a cyclist, motorist or pedstrian were in their path.

 

Simply, the speed limit is completely inappropriate.  As #2 said "more deaths are inevitable".

Wholly agree with petition. Perhaps another roundabout needed, appears to be enough space. Would slow traffic and allow traffic to cross road more safely.

It is critical now to ensure that cycling is made safer on our roads, cycle paths and pavements. Make room for cyclist , roads signs for "Be aware of cyclists".
Cyclist should also be more aware of their actions in a duty of care for the safety of other users. Keep cyclists alive please !
