Please don't ruin this historic marketplace any more than it has been!!! This town relies on tourism and the charm of this unspoilt place is what the attraction is. The square is NEVER congested by people parking around the guildhall !! ? So why more yellow lines?? Waste of money and looks hideous

Last year's yellow lines still look a mess, the money wasted on paint would be better spent on filling potholes around the town and it's approach roads. Or better still providing the traffic lights at the A2 /A25 junction NOW.

Listen to those that have done away with yellow lines, such as in Bury St Edmunds, and have recognised that the historic environment is more important than catering for the car. There is another way!

The car must rule ! just close that gate except for emergencies and deliveries .

Stupid bureaucracy of a few damaging the beauty of a historical town

Yellow lines are so draconian...bit like Faversham councils attitude. They just can't think outside of the box.

I was in Canterbury yesterday and noticed that there were no yellow lines on the roads around the cathedral entrance and how their absence contributed to the beauty of the area. Painting yellow lines in Faversham centre is a brutal and unnecessary action. I really can't understand the mentality of people who want to deface the area

I still do not understand the need for yellow lines in this historic area of Faversham. I hope that FTC will take note of the messiness of last year's painting exercise and decide not to renew the lines this year. In my opinion the yellow lines have made no difference whatsoever as to when people park or don't park.

There is no need for any yellow lines the control of parking can be done by use of a 'Controlled Parking Zone' {CPZ} with notices at the start and finish and proper enforcement.

Please don't renew the ghastly lines

It is dismaying that, yet again, our elected representatives are failing in their duty to protect Faversham's unique environment.

Yellow lines are looking more like Yellow Fever around our town. Keep your paint brushes to yourselves town council!!
Guest#13 Mar 10, 2015, 17:07
Totally agree with statement, the yellow lines will detract from historical heritage and create a negative visual impact within the town square
Guest#14 Mar 13, 2015, 11:04
Why not, for example, mend the potholes in the road, rather than waste precious resources painting yet more yellow lines which are not really necessary and are an eye sore.

There is absolutely no need for the ugly yellow in the lines centre of Faversham. Pedestrianization will be next which will kill the heart of this important historic town.
