THIS is why I don't commit to watching a new series on TV.  I wait until a second season is well underway and then I download all episodes and watch until I'm 'current'.  Pilots are done and reviewed by the networks to determine if they will even be aired.  Raise the bar networks.....if you don't believe a show will survive AT LEAST 2 seasons - then don't waste your money and viewer's time.  Bet the caliber of the programs would greatly increase.
