My children didn't need to be lectured about the new school with biased & negative views! "For those slotted to attend Ellison, it may seem easier just to let things happen and go to a brand new facility to start "fresh." Realize that based on experienced educators, it takes 2-3 years to get a school off the ground with all of its ancillary programs. It takes time for teachers and administration to establish a rhythm. It takes time and money to build a library from the ground up. Although we all desire for Ellison to be outstanding, it will not immediately have the depth of experience, maturity, and established programs that our children enjoy at LSE on a daily basis. Additionally, Ellison is projected to be a much larger school; this contrasts with the smaller, more close-knit sense of family at LSE where teachers and staff know students outside of their classroom on a first name basis, and vice-versa. Dr. Beck, I am excited and thrilled to attend a new school.  Please keep your negative comments about the new school to yourself.  We will have "programs" and a library, the school district is not going to leave us with nothing.  New schools actually get programs that other schools do not, I am sorry you were misinformed. We can't wait for the new "rhythm' of our school and how it will compare to LSE.  LSE had a great rhythm, but now because of the new boundaries, it is torn apart.

Also, I'm assuming being a doctor, you make decisions based on your education and experience.  Well, so did the reserach group who made the edcuated decision that proposal 1 was in the BEST interest of our community and schools.  There is NO getting around it, THERE WILL BE BOUNDARY CHANGES AGAIN IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS.  Putting a bandaide on the problem does not alleviate the influx of new people!
