#82016-05-22 18:54I'd like to know who exactly wrote this policy & what qualifications they have to advise on dietary policy? I have calculated the sugar content of an average school diner & it's almost double the amount of sugar that goes in my child's lunchbox! Why not look at school lunches before telling parents how to feed their own children! |

#10 Re:2016-05-22 19:17:00I am with poster no 8. They recommend rice. Since this is a packed lunch policy they must mean cold rice. Rice that by lunchtime will have been unrefridgerated for around 3.5 hours. Clearly the authors have never heard of Bacillus cereus. This bacteria creates toxins that can cause serious food poisoning. The toxin, once created, cannot be destroyed by reheating. Maybe unqualified School Governers, Teachers and the few parents who have apparently authored this, should stay out of subjects they clearly have insufficient knowledge to advise on, let alone set rules about! |
