FREEDOM FOR NURIYE GÜLMEN

Nuriye Gülmen must be released immediately.

-Nuriye Gülmen was arrested on 5 August 2020 simply because she was on site during one of many arbitrary raids at the Cultural Centre "Idil" of the band Grup Yorum. She was subsequently arrested.

- Nuriye Gülmen's file contains no evidence other than her presence at the Idil Cultural Centre. The court had returned the file because it didn't contain any evidence.

However, the proceedings were resumed following an objection by the public prosecutor's office.

- To prevent the proceedings from being discontinued, the security authorities played it safe and added a "digital evidence" (SD card) to the file without observing any procedural or legal rules.

This digital material was not in the file when the indictment was first drawn up.

- Not only Nuriye Gülmen, but also many other people were taken to court with the same digital material.

In another case, it is claimed that the memory card was found during the police raid at the Idil Cultural Centre on 14 October 2020. However, the image report showed that this file was created on 13 October 2020 and was therefore in the hands of the police.

- So it is also a lie that this memory card was found in the Idil Cultural Centre and that an image of it was made by the police.

These circumstances render the evidence useless and turn the SD card into rubbish.

- In recent months, the same digital material was forwarded to the Institute of Forensic Medicine by the 22nd Istanbul Court for Severe Crimes in another case.

The digital material was examined by the Forensic Medicine Institute and the organisational correspondence allegedly contained in the material could not be established.

The report, which was submitted to the court by the Institute of Forensic Medicine, states: "The content of the correspondence and the question of whether the images were manipulated were examined and the message mentioned in the indictment could not be established."

The information it contains is said to be similar to some documents downloaded from the internet and social media.

This means that all allegations against Nuriye Gülmen have been refuted.

- The court also MANEUVRED and exposed itself as a CORRUPT.

It announced that it had excluded a witness from testifying because he was not relevant.

However, in the judgement, the statements of the same "witness" were used as evidence.

The arrest of Nuriye Gülmen is pure GOVERNMENT POLICY.

WHY WAS THIS PLOT FORGED AGAINST NURIYE?

In 2016, there was allegedly an attempted coup in the course of the power struggle between the AKP and FETÖ (Fetullah Gülen movement).

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan described this as a "blessing from God" and declared a state of emergency.

On 21 July 2016, almost 150,000 public sector employees were made redundant as a result of decrees (decrees with the force of law) issued under the GATT (General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade), the GATS (General Agreement on Trade in Services), arbitration and privatisation decisions signed under the World Bank's directive.

This was a very comprehensive attack not only on public servants, but on the entire population.

DURING THE STATE OF EMERGENCY IN TURKEY, 32 DECREES WERE ISSUED AND ABOUT 150,000 (ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND) PEOPLE WERE DISMISSED THROUGH EMERGENCY DECREES.

NURIYE IS A UNIVERSITY LECTURER WHO WENT ON HUNGER STRIKE FOR 324 DAYS TO DEFY THE EMERGENCY DECREES.

THE INTERIOR MINISTER OF THIS STATE WANTED TO BREAK NURIYE'S RESISTANCE BY PUBLISHING A PAMPHLET LABELLING HER A TERRORIST.

THE COURTS SERVE AS A TOOL TO TAKE REVENGE.

Nuriye Gülmen, who is still in detention because of the digital material in question, should be released, the unlawful sentences should be overturned and acquittals should be granted.

Nuriye Gülmen must be released immediately.
