Efter den misslyckade militärkuppen i Turkiet har många turkar häktats, bland dem statsvetaren och journalisten Şahin Alpay, 72. Alpay disputerade i statsvetenskap vid Stockholms universitet 1980. Därefter har han varit verksam som journalist och akademiker i Turkiet. I sin gärning har Şahin Alpay alltid främjat demokratiska värden. Det är upprörande att han nu blivit häktad. Han bör omedelbart friges! Alla som stöder detta krav bör skriva under e-petitionen.
After the failed military coup in Turkey many Turks have been arrested, among these the political scientist Şahin Alpay, 72. Alpay received his doctorate degree in Political Science from Stockholm University in 1980. He has subsequently been active as a journalist and academic in Turkey. Şahin Alpay has always favoured values of democracy. It is appaling that he has been arrested. He should immediately be released! Everybody supporting this demand should sign the e-petition below.
