Mitchell Park Court Resurfacing Support
We’re a group of regular users of the Mitchell Park multisurface court working with neighbors, the Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) 2D, Ward 2 Councilmember Brooke Pinto, and the DC Department of Parks and Recreation to advocate for a resurfacing project in the FY27 DC facilities budget.
Do you support our efforts to have the Mitchell Park multisurface court resurfaced?
Why We're Doing This:
- The last resurfacing was done in 2014, more than 10 years ago.
- The courts are in poor condition, suffering from dead spots, cracks, and drainage issues that lead to standing water on the surface.
- Together with the standing water, there is no longer 'grip' on the courts, which poses a safety risk to those who use them; trips and falls have happened amongst users.
