Save the Svängsta Factory and the Legacy of Ambassadeur Reels 

It is with great sadness and concern that we have learned about the potential closure of the historic Svängsta factory in Sweden, where the iconic Ambassadeur fishing reels have been crafted for decades. Pure Fishing and its owners, Sycamore Partners in the USA, are planning to move production to China.  

Since 1939, the Svängsta factory has been a symbol of craftsmanship and tradition. Every Ambassadeur reel has been carefully assembled by hand in Sweden, representing passion, precision, and world-class quality. These reels are not just tools for anglers but cherished collector’s items and a testament to a unique heritage, admired by enthusiasts around the globe. Moving production to China would not only erase this historic factory but also diminish the legacy of a product that embodies Swedish ingenuity and dedication to excellence.   We urge Pure Fishing to reconsider this decision and keep the production of Ambassadeur reels in Svängsta, where they belong.
